MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Me too, local works but not international. I am busy working and now I can't >:l

My backup Afrihost account is working fine, seems to be an Mweb problem.

Yes, lost all international connections here in Bela Bela (Warmbath)

Anyone else just lose all Int?

Afternoon Gents, Thanks for your feedback.

No confirmed outages as yet, I have that requested our network team confirm.

Waiting on some feedback.

Ah, Mweb, I remember the days of hitting 55Gb and being throttled to 20 Kb on EVERYTHING.. Ahh, Mweb, The first days of uncapped.

Still having trouble getting over 120kb/s on 4mb/s

EDIT: No trouble on my webafrica acc, full speed.

Last evening after 19:00. I couldnt get > 70kb/s on my 4Mbps line, yet speed test showed my download speed as 5.4Mbp. Could also not connect to international gaming servers in the US. Tried rebooting router etc etc, no joy, so gave up.

Hi Gerhardva

What download are you referring to, that was not going higher that 70kb/s and were you trying to game while DL?

Hi MWEB Guy

So I sorted out most of my internet problems last week by simply replacing my ADSL splitter and waiting for Telkom in Centurion to look at the line. Almost ALL traffic (Youtube, Dropbox, VPN to the office, Apple update, Windows update) is coming in perfectly.

I am however taking part in the Beta for Elite Dangerous and I simply cannot get it downloaded. The game install is > 1GB and at best I'm getting 0.01 MB/s down. I have contacted the developer and they see no problems on their side.

Doing a traceroute to the server results in this:

1 2 ms 1 ms 1 ms router [REDACTED]

The issue seems to be with Amazon services such as Cloudfront and S3 (confirmed by Minecraft not downloading its updates after 5 tries).
