MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

For this to happen on a weekend and the fix be this slow in coming is ridiculous. The free international connects now and then but only for short bursts and slower than dial up. Wonder if another company will take my business over a weekend.

The thing is that we have tested on a few occasions and we can not replicate the trouble.

This has since been escalated to our senior guys to investigate and at this point they can not find anything wrong with it.

As soon as I receive feedback I will get back to you
 
Ok, this replicate thing ........ where are you testing from? All over the country? At the data center? I'm just losing my rag with getting the same answer when there are posts in here and on FB and elsewhere where people are going "Hey, I have the same problem" and Mweb goes "Nope, unicorns are farting rainbows here folks"
 
I don't easily lose my shyte but something like this has me losing it in buckets

Thanks for all the info provided, I have just received confirmation that there is a problem with the news servers.
At this point it's only affecting the northern parts of the country including KZN.
The engineers are aware of it now and are attending to it.
 
As a matter of interest - what causes certain parts to zonk out like that? Is it a bum node or exchange or something?

They haven't provided any details around what the problem is, so it could be anything.
Lets hope they get it resolved asap.
 
Hi MWEB Guy. My Internet has become so erratic it makes streaming impossible just now. For example, on 4OD since about Friday it's been 5 seconds of the show, 10 seconds of buffer. Very frustrating. Speed tests show pings of about 300+ and speeds on my 4mb line between 0.5 to 2.5mbs.

So I used an afrihost trial account this evening to compare and I watched a 45 minute documentary on 4OD with not one single hiccup. No buffer, nothing.

So how can this be? Can you check things out from your side please. I'll pm you details.
 
Hi MwebGuy. looks like my issue has been resolved, Telkom did do "something", but what, I cant tell you. For once I could actually connect to my inernational gaming server berfore 17:00. Will monitor the connection over the next couple of days, and revert back on here. Thanks for the support and all the follow up calls.

Looking at the account, the fault has been linked to a Network Fault. We don't have any ERT with regards to this. As soon as our team has more information, we will make contact with you.

Thanks. I know there isn't much you can do except give me that response, but I've been getting that response, including the "no ERT" for around 2 months now.
I was also told it'd be looked into by Telkom at the end of last month (July)...

There is the problem, Telkoms 48 hours promise to me turned into 72 hrs, and with all the restructuring in Telkom now, I think they are dropping the SLA a bit.

Front page news is for Standard uncapped, you're on Premium uncapped.

Yeah, bit unfair that the premium uncapped accounts dont get a discounted rate as well. What will be my best option if I want to change. I hardly go over 100GB a month, so maybe there is a cheaper/faster capped option?

Afternoon, our 4MB and 6MB standard packages may suit your needs.

The 4MB standard package ha s threshold of approximately 110GB, while the 6MB standard is approximately 150GB.

Let me know if you are interested in these options.
