MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Thats just sad. What would be a nice option is if you could allocate unused night time data to your daily cap. Guess it's a pipe dream also.

Remember the night time data is a value add.

It was not always available.

Howzit guys.

Internet is being ridiculously slow tonight. I've got a 4mbps uncapped premium account with Mweb, line syncs at 10mbps, but speed test is under 1mbps. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4078187311

Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi ronald911

Please let me know if you are still having trouble with your connection.
If so, please PM me your account info and the ADSL telephone number in question, I'd like to look into this for you.

More than likely a Telkom/line/router fault, first step is to turn off modem for 20 - 30 minutes to see if that helps, next step is to try a different ISP (plenty free 1GB ADSL accounts available).

Hi MWEB Guy

I have a client who is at the end of his tether with a 2MB uncapped MWEB line. We have been through many frustrating calls and tests, yet he still has issues just picking up email. Who can I contact today to try converting to a 50Gb capped account and upping speed of line to maybe 4MB.

Hi

Is the problem only with receiving emails?
How is the connection otherwise, do they get an error messages?

Connection test out fine. Been through tests using Telkom guest account testing to Telkom speed test site and testing using MWEB account to MWEB site. Just spoken to your call centre. Takes 7 to 10 working days to change to a 50Gb capped account. We would like to test your capped solution first though but it does not seem to be an option?

Other ISPs don't have a problem supplying a Test account. Are you able to assist?
Connection is slow, this is why we want to try alternatives as we have worked with MWEB support on the slow speeds to no avail.

Hi

We do in deed offer trial accounts but this is for new clients wishing to test the network before they sign up.
http://www.mweb.co.za/internet-connection/adsl/uncapped-adsl/2mbps-uncapped-free-trial.aspx

For existing clients though there is not trial/test account.
If you would like the account changed from an uncapped account to a capped account I'm sure it could be arranged.
The only reason it would take this long is because the line upgrade would need to be submitted to Telkom to complete, although it could happen a lot sooner also.
It all depends on Telkom and how soon they process the request.

Right now the speed is so bad the customer wants to cancel the MWEB subscription.
I will try to use another ISP trial account to see if the issue improves, as they are impatient.
I have asked them to request the conversion to a capped account from MWEB in the interim.

International seems to be a little slow today in Durban. Facebook, Youtube and other sites either time out or are sluggish.

Morning, I think Facebook is having a problem. I cannot replicate with any other international website at the moment.

Is the throttling limits still the same? What is the throttling (FUP) limit for the 6meg standard lines? I think the 4meg standard might not be fore me anymore, haven't been throttled yet, but I have a feeling that I might cut it too close from now on.

Hi phoneJunky

Nothing has changed for the threshold limits.

The 6MB Standard has a threshold in the region of 150GB

So if I upgrade to the 6MB account, when will the threshold start? Will it be 150 immediately or will it be pro-rated over my 30 days?

Hi phonejunky, as you already have an MWEB account your historical usage will be taken into account
