MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

What is the difference between @mweb.co.za and @dslmweb.co.za? I still have no connectivity to my game, but line speeds are optimal.

There should not be any difference.

We are trying to move all our clients onto the @mweb.co.za realm though.

Are you able to connect to other gaming servers?

Is everyone still getting pathetic torrent speeds up until about 11pm? Even torrents with several times as many seeds as peers I get maybe 10kB/s max. I'm on a 10mbps premium account and not being throttled. Http downloads go at full speed.

Hi Knyro

Are you only having issues with torrent speeds?

what is MWEB's 4mb standard uncapped download "cap
before getting throttled ..

we download about up to 80gb a month?

ok so averaging 3-4 gb a day basically

that seems to be a good option for me then as i'm on AH capped for the unshaped but getting such bad latencies and packet loss lately

Hi djbrendan

The 4MB Standard package has a threshold in the region of 110GB over a 30day rolling window; calculated backwards.

It is not month to month.

Hi MWEBGuy

Quick question...I'm on the home 10mb (R539) and was wondering the upload speed for this package what is it meant to be? (Line syncing at: up:1024 / down:10240).

Yeah not getting close to that...

Seems the line is still limited to 512 instead of the promised 1024.

Not an issue on Telkoms side as I'm syncing at 1mb already.

Telkom/equipment fault, also note you're getting lower download speeds too.

Here's a 10Mbps line and MWEB 6Mbps account, outperforming your 10Mbps account's download speed:

*edit*

I see you're in Claremont, which is notorious for ADSL issues, exchange congestion, etc.

Yeah this is a work line in Pinelands. No one else using the line (secretly disconnected them all for a quick check).

Got a WISP at home for my internet.

So if im syncing at full 10mbs line speed surely then its an Mweb fault and not Telkom?

Hi MDE

As per Telkom who sets the line speeds it should be UL of up to 1024 on a 10MB line.

Your line readings between your router to exchange shows sync of: 1020 kbps

Please do a test from here also: http://www.mweb.co.za/help/ADSL/FaultsandTroubleshooting/ADSLSpeedTest.aspx

If you have the Telkom guest account details feel free to configure your router with it & provide saix speed test.

Also as mentioned by PMP your DL speed is off also.

Looks like a Telkom issue.

Thanks.
