MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Hi All

The SEACOM terrestrial network was successfully repaired and is up and stable. Engineers will continue to monitor.

Thank you for your patience.

I've been getting lag spikes in World of Warcraft recently and sometimes they last for quite some time. It started about a week ago and everything will seem okay just after logging in with an average of 200 ms for local and international latency. After logging in a short while ago it's already gone up to 470 locally and 617 internationally. And that's not the worst. It sometimes goes past 800 ms which makes the game unplayable for me if I want to play with a group of people.

I haven't been having problems in WoW up until recently.

And to add to my original post, these are results from Speedtest.net all taken a minute apart:

Hi PerfectBlue, tell me is it only on WoW that you are experiencing this ?

Hi

Not quite an uncapped Mweb question, but it is to do with an Mweb query... perhaps someone here is able to assist..

Gmail POP3 used to fetch MWEB email account messages without a hitch up until the 22nd January.

MwebGmailError.jpg

The MWEB account details are correct, triple checked these, and Gmail fetches other accounts mail just fine, only the MWEB is giving hassles.

Any thoughts?

Well it came back up minutes after my last message, that's my first downtime in... As long as I can remember.

No misfires here, I was online when you posted.

Well this morning I received an SMS from Mweb:

Dear Mwebber the ADSL problem in your area has been fixed. If you're still having trouble try restarting your equipment.Closed:04-Feb at 22:31

Impressive, I never even reported an issue.

how does the 'limiting' work if you sitting on a 6meg account?

does it come from Mweb's side or Telkom?

seeing as Telkom doesn't do 6meg fixed lines

want to know because for about 6 months after upgrading to 6meg account my line synced at 10meg, but for few months before that it synced at the 6meg only.

since my line was fixed last week after having terrible syncing problems, it's again syncing at 6meg instead of 10meg

so was just curious (thinking of testing 10meg account for this month and seeing if it is stable)

MWEB side. When I had 6Mbps Uncapped I got slightly above 6Mbps too (10Mbps line).

Morning, we would limit the 6Mbps package to 6Mbps.

When the line speeds are higher, they will be the occasional bursts past 6Mbps.

If you choose to move the package to 10MBps and the line is syncing at 6MBps; then the line would limit your speeds.

When does the Throttled 144p youtube Wild ride end? Cause it's the 8th and I've been throttled since the 31st of January. I know it's a 30 day rolling window but how do I find out when that window starts and ends. How can I see how much I have downloaded in that window? Can I get a warning when I am reaching my 4meg basic threshold?

When is the throttle speed going to be upped to at least 100kbps? I want to get off this wild ride Mr Conductor.
