MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

So tonight my internet works fine except my origin friends list and some other services don't load. On a Telkom account it works 100% but on mweb it doesn't want to work. This has been a big issue.

Done as requested, restart your router in 5 minutes and test.
 
I'm sorry to say. I've been with MWEB ever since the "Free the web" thing and being loyal to them but lately I've been struggling with support. They keep escalating it. Let me tell you a story. So I had issues with ORIGIN friends list and some online services. Then I contacted them late February. They Logged it for me saying they will call me back on 1st of march. I think it was almost a scam trying to hold me on a leash so I have to stay for another month.

The issue is when I use Telkom or Axxess Test account everything works. My latency feel even a bit lower. Hard to explain as my ping is not physically lower when doing a speedtest but in certain online games it's a bit lower. Now the thing is they keep telling me it's not a problem on their network but why then when I use another IS like Telkom or Axxess it works all the time. I get the friend list issue then switch to Telkom or Axxess and it works go back to MWEB it doesn't work so I don't know why MWEB can't see it's my issue.

The thing is I can be unreasonable and I have the right to as if you don't sort out the issue why must I stay with MWEB then. I go with whomever I please but MWEB knows that I have to stay for another month anyway so they will try to get it solved at least before end April so I might stay. Sad to say just by doing that alone is already a reason to move on to another ISP. I feel like MWEB is not treating their customers with the utmost importance. The only way they can redeem me as a customer is if they solve this issue Today. The other ISP's do give me outstanding value if you look at the network performance vs price you pay. After this hassel having to swear over the phone to get assisted correctly I'm not willing to stay a MWEB customer.

The Gremlins are out again. Had Telkom over thrice and am on a new port. DSLAM reset, new filters installed and even a new router (NetGear) yet I am getting these speeds on a 20mb line.

Currently my connection speeds seems to be a bit of a lottery. I have a 10 Meg line that syncs at 10 Meg, with very little line noise. Since last week my line seems to cap itself at certain speeds, but maintains its 10 Meg sync. This morning when did a speed test, it refuses to go over 4 Meg and download speeds support this. Switching to another ISP returns the line to its 10 Meg glory, without turning off the router (so its not the line). Back to mweb and its back to 4 Meg. I have found switching the router off for about 5 min (So I get a new IP) seems to return the line back to 10 Meg, for about 2 days and then repeat (Sometimes its only speeds tests at 2 Meg or 6 Meg). THis isses seems to be related to another issue, as there are times my line cant access any dns servers, a router reset solves this issue. I have one of these mweb routers.

Hi, our records show that your line isn't managed by MWEB. How many devices connect to your router when you test? Did you run this test via cable connection to your router or Wifi?

Hi! Yup, my lines managed by Telkom. I have just one device connected at the moment. Yup I did the test via Ethernet and I did do it once via WiFi. It made no difference.

Its now been a few days and the problems still here. It took me 8 refreshes and about 20 minutes to just get to this page.

I've spoken to Telkom again and they cant seem to find the problem. I really dont know what else to do.

Good Day Schnitzo, I know that the SEACOM outage is ongoing; however we have added bandwidth via alternate providers to compensate for it.

I checked your account and noted that on the 2nd and 3rd; the connection shows disconnections.

The SNR on the line is around 7.3dB at the moment, however the sync speeds is at 16376kbps.

When you pick up your land line, do you hear a crackling or static noise?

Did the router loose connection by itself or did you reboot the router?

Also, the usage on your account for today; shows a much improved service. Please let me know if this is indeed the case.
 
I have the same issue, Did you manage to get the print server working/found in the TG589?

I plugged my USB printer into it and installed it but doesnt act as a print server. No prints come out.

Morning ahsan, unfortunately we do not support network set-ups or printers.
 
Is anyone having issues with high pings and big drops in download speed in Centurion?

I'm in Highveld and my 10mb line is now at around 1mb with pings going as high as 700. Resetting the router multiple times does nothing. This issue started yesterday.
