MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I currently have a 1Mb/s ADSL line with uncapped internet from a different ISP, but the new Mweb offer is looking very attractive.
However, I do have a query or two about the Mweb service.
I use a VPN connection during weekdays (8AM – 5PM) to connect to my work and my average usage is under 30GB per month, currently around 28GB/month (1GB/day).

• Could you please advise me on what your average user’s data usage is per month on the 1024Kb/s uncapped account?
• Will I be throttled or restricted in any way if I continue with this average usage on the Mweb service?

Thnx

From many many previous quotes:
Mweb doesn't throttle, ever. They shape protocols according to network load, etc (like p2p, etc).
30GB a month is peanuts for their 1Mb package. From Mweb Guy: "as long as you don't abuse or try to bypass shaping, we're happy".

Would like to thank Ann and Anisha from MWeb for sorting out the billing of the free router chop chop. Took 1 phone call and about 3minutes.
Someone from customer relations will phone tomorrow to confirm the amount has been reversed.
Now thats snappy service.
:)

Hi reactor_sa

Positive feedback is always welcome

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience you had with us :)

Allo well done MWEB; are the 4mb users in store for any price changes?

Hi Linoman

We believe that our 4Mbps and 10Mbps products are already competitively priced and as such chose to focus on the 384kbps and 1Mbps products. This is in line with our aim to make 1Mbps Uncapped ADSL the entry-level uncapped product in South Africa. We’ve also enabled all our 384Kbps Uncapped ADSL customers for 1Mbps speeds, for R20 less per month.

I understand Telkom will soon be starting to upgrade the current 384Kb/s ADSL lines to 1Mb/s and then the current 1Mb/s lines to 2Mb/s speeds.

If I change now to Mweb and use their 1Mb/s uncapped account, will the account price go up if/when Telkom upgrade the current 1Mb/s lines to 2Mb/s?

Hi CactusJack6942

If Telkom does upgrade 1Mbps ADSL Lines to 2Mbps, ISP’s may decide to introduce a new product at 2Mbps at a different price; but this will vary from ISP to ISP - at this stage we can’t foresee what will happen with regards to pricing in the future. We will however, not increase prices on existing products without customer consent. Please be assured that we will always continue trying to deliver the best value to our customers.

Hi MWEB Guy.

Am I allowed to have a VPN Connection to my Home Network using my Company's Network as it says in your T & C's that only 1 concurrent connection is allowed?

I used to VPN via Telkom Data, but just want to confirm before I do it.

Hi Mweb Guy

Facebook is dead, can not even traceroute it... cnn.com working 100%

Kind Regards
