Are you talking about my problem or was there an anouncement of a known problem with Moreleta Park? Anyways, my adsl still take 30mins to load a webpage. Maybe its telkom..

Thanks for trying to fix it mweb guy, maybe we should try something else, or ill call telkom in the morning :C

There's a known problem it seems. It's on their notice board. Still broken. :(

Good Morning everyone, there are many complaints about international going down this morning. Everything seems to be ok now, I will follow up with our engineers and provide you some feedback later today.

Kind regards, MWEB Guy

International is up the *bleepbleep* latency wise. I'm sitting with a hundred more than usual and not happy about it.

Yeah, ingame latency is currently at the 360-380 mark when it's usually 280.

(other accounts are sitting at 280)

Theres seems to be an outage in your area, I will enable sms notification for you.

Telkom ADSL services in the Reservoir Hills ( 031 - 262 ) area will be Inaccessible due to a DSLAM problem.

I'm confused now.

I'm online so it's not inaccessible and my other accounts have no issue? Genuinely do not understand.

Sometimes you can still connect, however your experience is worse than normal. I will verify whether the outage has been resolved.

What I mean to say is that the DSLAM may be partially fixed; the connectivity issue may be resolved.

Confirmed with our technical team, the outage still unresolved on Telkom's side.

Thanks for checking and informing me, I hate being in the dark info wise, lol :)

Good Morning Everyone

Just to clarify the situation this morning with international traffic. We are currently operating with just one of our 10GB Seacom links.

The outage started at about 03h00 with a terrestrial fibre issue near Marseilles causing us to lose both our 10GB links and failover to Sat-3. Since then both links were restored by 07h00, but one of them has just failed again.

Our international capacity should be sufficient to cope with this, however p2p and other lower priority services will most likely be degraded.

My sympathies to the Diablo players this morning who had to log off and get some sleep :)

We'll keep you updated on any changes to the above.

Regards
Will

Im in Moreletapark, my router is syncing.

I can ping 8.8.8.8, but any website loads EXTREMELY slow.

So I phoned Telkom, and spent like an hour trying to troubleshoot the problem. They tell me everything on thier end is fine, so I call MWEB. It took like 5 minutes for them to tell me theres a problem... with telkom.

So, I have two questions:

1) Are these symtoms experienced by other people in Moreletapark?
2) How the hell does MWEB know about the problem, but telkom does not?

Because that's how we roll :D

Seriously it's a difficult to answer that one as I don't know what their process is for notifying call center staff about outages.

We have a reference for a network fault on that exchange which we reported based on our own call trends, but these don't always reflect on the Telkom noticeboard which might be why their agent you spoke to wasn't aware.
