MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

That ping is without WAGE servers which i run on pingplotter continiously on 2nd pc, so for the WAGE servers i get the packetloss bans, but even while off it and not browsing, ping to 1st node is this high. Browsing in general is sluggish.

With the pingplotter log history, i can see latency very erratic, sub 10ms pings for only 30min from 7:45pm to8:15pm. I have this situation most days afterhours only. In general through the day all is well.
 
...WebAfrica has issues, do you get same problems with iGame ?
 
And now, out of the blue, 1st node pings dropped to 8ms from 10:50pm........hhhmmmm
 
I've got some awful packet loss in DDO again ....... 360 ping and 3-5% packet loss (usual 320 and 0%). Some international sites are also sluggish.

Morning Mephisto_Helix,

Please advise if you are still encountering issues with DDO and international sites. If yes, please DM me tracert & ping results from the relevant sites.

Morning Mortiiy,

I see that your router is configured with @mweb.co.za, please change it to @dslmweb.co.za and see if there is a difference. If not, then it looks more like a congestion issue as you mentioned it happens more after a specific time of the day.

DM me tracert & ping results from the sites/servers in question.

How can i get images to you? Would love for you to see what i see, especially on a linegraph log over 24 hours.

Sub 10ms pings right through the night, escalated to up to 500ms from 11am this morning.

I would definitely believe the congestion suggestion.

Hi Prophet,

These are Telkom related outages that are reported to us. There is no further information relating to the outages and no ETA with regards to a resolution. Updates are posted on the Network Status page once the outage has been resolved.

Yeah. One of my friends literally calls telkom every day regarding the Sinoville problem. Though it doesn't feel like its helping us at all.

I'm having poor performance too. I have a 1meg uncapped line, the router confirms it connected at 1024k download 512k upload. However I have not been getting more than about 30k downloads. Test was with iTunes download (not torrent) and speed tests show similar results.

MWEB 1Mb - really poor performance - not unusual
Test conducted on 15 January 2012 9:09:10 PM SAST

Download Speed: 221 kbps (27.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 150 kbps (18.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 250 ms
