Been getting DAMN good speeds for the past few days, kudo's MWEB !
They must know I am going on leave for like a month - and blessing me with some speed before I go away LOL

We are still busy with the process of reviewing our product range and pricing in line with the announced line speed changes and we will let you guys know as soon as we have an official update on this, but we can't commit to you exactly when this will be yet.

We do still have time with this as the Telkom changes only start in August and we'd prefer to take a bit longer to make sure we come up with the right solutions :)

Thanks for the response Will. Just don't leave it too long cos I see some guys already jumping ship to other ISP's cos of the good deals.

Us loyal MWEB supporters don't expect the 2Mb free but if its competitive like your other packages then you have nothing to worry about. Release it already. :D

So am I. I am quite happy with MWEB but Afrihost's 10meg uncapped is fantastic and they will only throttle after 400Gigs! I don't even use that much so my line speed will always be 10meg...
If MWEB wants to keep me in place, would suggest they throw us a bone! If not, going to jump ship...
 
It's not possible for me to watch anything higher than 360p in YouTube with mweb if I try 720 it will keep buffering but won't play but if I use my other shaped account with another ISP it works brilliantly. Before using another account I thought its my line but after that I am getting fantastic speeds on that account so it's mweb shaping YouTube

Trust me I have been nagging the guys in products and marketing to death about this, but their lips are still sealed :)

From my own point of view I know that changing ISPS is a pain so I'd recommend that those of you who are considering a move just hang tight until you've seen everyone's response to the new line speeds and you can make a completely informed decision.

Just don't forget to factor in who has the best network and who doesn't even like to use the word throttling :D I'm confident that once the dust settles we're still going to have the best solution around!

AFAIK we do not shape youtube, infact it should actually be performing rather well as it is prioritized.
Could you drop me a PM with account details, I'll check from side if i can see any gremlins. :D

Can you light a fire under them? :) You have many loyal Mweb supporters but for lots of us it all comes down to price. People are getting itchy when there's no announcement while other isp's are dropping their prices.

I second this, I am so close to moving.
 
Youtube is being throttled for me. It doesn't matter what video I am watching i am limited to buffer it at 110KB/s.

Edit: I can't even view 360p without pausing to buffer.

I'm an mweb 4mbps customer (for years) and the past few days I've tried competing (cheaper) 10mbps packages; I've still found mweb to be the most consistent in terms of speed and latency.

Diablo 3 is unplayable on afrihost 10mbps (700ms-900ms) but mweb is a solid 200ms (and always is!)

Is it only youtube that you are having trouble with?
 
IS anyone else having news server issues? Curious to see if it's just me.

(could be a crappy nzb or alt.binz acting up)

It seems like it is still the same. It seems to be buffering it from this server.

Do you have Google DNS's setup or is DNS's automatically assigned?
 
HI i need some help pls

I reset my password on the mweb site and now all i get is the landing page

Nothing connects not skype not NNTP not torrents nothing.

I tried resetting my router but it did not help, it;s been almost two hours now
