Dont know if there is a thread for this already just want to know whats the latency like for WOW and GW2?

GW2, I get around 200-250ms.
LoL, I get 195ms.
Local games, Gauteng: 15-30ms. Cape Town 40-76ms.

Never had any bad experiences with Mweb and gaming.

I can pretty much second this. No issues whats so ever with the MWEB.
1MB line, Uncapped with decent pings. DOTA 2 150-250 ping. Local War3 (twilight) ping of 19.

Same..Wow i get 185-199 latency..even while some one browses the net i hardly get a increase on my latency.

Verrrryyy happy with Mweb and my online play

Good Morning BrianStephan

If you are not currently an MWEB account holder, I can arrange a free 7 day trial that you can do some testing with.

Im sure you'll be impressed :D

@BrianStephan

We are rock solid for gaming Brian :) I'm a regular gamer myself as are many of my colleagues and with the dedicated team looking after Gamezone, we make sure the gaming traffic gets looked after properly.

With any big releases (such as with Guildwars 2 now) the Gamezone guys also go the extra mile and do extensive playtesting and feedback to our network engineers in the unlikely event that they pick up any problems :)

Do yourself a favour though and let MWEB Guy help you setup a trial account so you can see for yourself.

Sorry for bumping this old thread,

I'm currently interested in alternative ADSL options for gaming/browsing etc.
At the moment, I have a 2Mb uncapped line at another ISP, but I'm experiencing massive spikes in latency (over 1000ms) whenever someone else browses the internet, be it via wifi or LAN.

I've tried investigating the QoS settings on the router (Telkom Duoplus), but I don't understand Klingon.

I've also queried this problem with various network engineers & ISP consultants and apparently an unshaped connection won't resolve my problem.

Can Mweb offer a solution? I'm willing to transfer asap if we can sort this out. (My fiance's on the verge of killing me because she's not allowed to browse the net while I'm gaming :()

Hi diekwagga

I can offer you a free 7 day trial account in order for you to test our network. If you are interested, PM me your contact details and I will arrange for a consultant to contact you.

Hi MWEB Guy.
I want to get a 1Mbps or 2Mbps line for gaming(Xbox-MW3 and Black ops 2 thats coming), which one do you prefer? I don't have a rooter yet. becuase I don't know which one is the best(R700 range) for gaming. I stay in Capetown. Also I'm not sure about the pinging thing, becuase ive read that no matter which line you choose for gaming, it does not make a differance. So do I choose 2meg or rather the cheaper 1meg?

I would suggest that you sign up for the 1Mb first as it is the cheaper option.

test it for a bit then you can always upgrade and test the 2Mb

I had the opportunity to trial the 7day Mweb 4MB Uncapped account and I have to admit that I was impressed. 2.9-3.1Mbps D/L and 165 - 180ms ping to WoW. It is at the top of my list to move over and it will happen as soon as my contract is up..
