mweb uncapped getting worse by the week?

What is happening to mweb's uncapped package?

Pings in games are really getting high especially international pings with lagspikes, it's not just me a lot of guys are having these issues...

are they ever going to get back to normal? customer care always have the same excuse" we have no problems with our network, wait for it to get better"

is it time to cancel my mweb account?

What are your ping times and jitter?

Which games are you referring to? Also which servers are you playing on? What are your pings in the various games? Please provide me as much detail as possible and we will try and assist you.

Primarily league of legends and starcraft 2. Normally in the 250-270ms range. however lately it is 350-400ms.

Just ran a few ping tests and it seems better today, ping to London is around 280ms from 350+ yesterday others in my clan are also reporting mweb seems to be better. Now my only question is what is going on?

black ops was @ 50ms ping yesterday today a better 38 average.

I have 2ms jitter locally with a 200 ping to a vodacom server 19ms to an altech server and 1ms jitter there. 290 to Manchester with 6ms jitter not too bad but my afirhost account is 260ms with 3ms jittler. :/
 
Haha, people will complain about anything. Those kind of pings were unheard beginning of last year ;) First time in 6 years my WoW went green was when I moved to MWeb uncapped.
 
uhm before i moved to mweb from telkom i was getting a ping of 210ms on League of legends, many guys in CT are getting around 190ms on telkom.

However I want an decent ping, and that is 260 ish... the usualy ping i get with mweb.

I am in the northern province btw

mweb once again past useless, ping of 500ms on lol and it's not just me another guy in pretoria with 475.
 
It really sucks this weekend, constant blackouts where no traffic is sent or received and many DNS problems too. Not to mentions speed. Bad Mweb!

Hi Rouxenator,

Please let me know if you are still experiencing blackouts? Do you have specified DNS's or is it set on automatically assign DNS? What was the speed results you were getting and from where?

Things looked much better this morning, got 430kb/s flat out with no blackouts and no DNS timeout issues.
 
speeds are fine today, however pings? 500ms plus instead of the usual 250ms, is this going to be the norm from now on? afrihost is fine 235ms so wth is going on with mweb?
 
Today I've been getting bad pings and bad speeds. What the hell is going on Mweb?

I also play League of Legends and the ping has slowly been increasing. It used to average about 250ms for me but now I am getting about 300-350ms.
 
Hey, When I launched SC2 today, The first thing it did was to update the game... It took so long to download the latest update!!! The avg speed - 20kb/s (I'm a 384K uncapped user). Why is that? :( I saw its size is only 30mb.
 
I have to agree. Something is up with Mweb's network. I think they've either introduced additional shaping on "unshaped" accounts or the network is congested. My downloads from filesonic are struggling to stay over 23 KB/s and are fluctuating between 14 and 20 KB/s. When I spoke to one of the staff at Mweb's helpdesk on Friday night his exact words were "your speeds are well within scope" and thats when I was like "yeah sure" and ended the call. 8 hours to download a 350MB file on an unshaped account is BS imo.

Also downloading from file sonic and get about 50KB/s. That's using download manager with 4 threads. Before I could get full speed all the time. Also tried downloading something local and starts off at 500KB/s then gets throttled to 150KB/s after a few seconds.
 
Getting 350ms and bad lag spikes on League of Legends.

Edit: And now its 400ms. With huge lag spikes

dont worry, im having the same ****...... come now man! Mweb sort it out... getting 100k/s MAX on my UNCAPPED "unshaped (ie : well within "scope)" account.

so did this, and what a waste of time....

it seemed better on monday and now it's worse than ever... i even get random disconnects from mweb but my afrihost is fine!

Youtube? don't even try! buffer at 360p every 2 seconds...

Pings are even worse now too! WTF is this ever going to be sorted?
