Hi is anyone else having troubles on Mweb's uncapped where your gmail hangs on loging in and google searches also hangs?

Some times you need to click refresh a few times before it responds.

This only seems to be happening on all google related domains.

Thanks.

Are you using Firefox? I had a similar problem, and then started using Chrome and Safari, they worked fine in those apps.

I doubt that Firefox does not 'work' with Google and/or GMail -- I've not had any problems in this regard with Firefox. Clear browser cache, clear cookies, restart browser, restart computer, restart router.

I have the same problem using Opera, found a thread that suggests something is broken in the latest release.

interesting, i've been having this issue for a long time with firefox. Also (shamefully) tried this on IE and it worked fine. Do not think its a problem with the new release.

If I use Firefox everything works correctly.

I think it's an area thing of some sort, because you're not the only person who complained about this, it's been up and down the last 2 days. Apparently, you need to call Telkom and ask them to recreate your ports...

I'm also purely on FF and have no issues to date using Mweb Uncapped (4Mbit)

Strange

Yes using Firefox, havn't tested it on IE yet.

It's strange though because if I connect with any other ADSL account then it works fine, the problem is unique to the Mweb uncapped only.

Will give IE a try tonight on the Mweb uncapped and see what it does.

I have been using Mweb uncapped for 3 months now, and it's always had the Google problem.

@Wnbcsa: That's interesting that the problem is unique to MWeb. PeterCH reported in another thread timeouts when connecting to the Track & Trace page of the SA Post Office. I wonder if the problem is related somehow.

Same on IE

Hi All,

Just tested it on IE and the same thing happens. Makes no difference which browser I use.

I have even tried plugging my laptop into the router and same thing happens on Laptop.

I know im not the only one with this problem, I have seen people post about this before.

Anyone got ideas?

I had similar issues this last weekend--clear cache, cookies and browser history; reboot router--and everything worked fine. Surprisingly, Chrome was the one not working well--but IE worked fine before I did the clearing/reseting router.

Step 1:
FireFox: Tools > Clear Recent History > Select All > OK

Step 2:
Command Prompt (Win Vista/7 should open as Administrator)
' ipconfig /flushdns '
' ipconfig /registerdns '

Step 3:
Reboot Router (Leave off for about 60 seconds)

Hi All

I will have this investigated.

Except for step 2 I did them all--I use CCleaner that does I guess Step 2 using a GUI, right--if so I did Step 2 too.

If that still didn't work for you - best would be to wait for Mweb to check this out for you. Not much the users on this forum can help out with if it's in fact an issue from their side.

Hi All

We were unable to replicate this problem on our side. Please test again and advise.
