I received this mail from MWeb a couple of minutes ago. I've been on their 4MB uncapped package for the past year, and have not changed my habits in this time. Never had a problem before, but if this threat is to be taken seriously we seem to have a problem looming.
Anyone else received something like this ?

Dear MWEB Customer

This email serves as a notice regarding your MWEB ADSL service.
Your current ADSL usage pattern shows repeated instances of continuous bulk downloads over prolonged periods. This is in contravention of our Acceptable Use Policy as defined below:
• You may not restrict, inhibit or interfere with the ability of any person to access, use or enjoy the Internet or the any services, or create an unusually large burden on our network, including, without limitation, continuously uploading or downloading streaming video or audio; continuous FTP uploading or downloading, or otherwise generating levels of traffic sufficient to impede others' ability to send or retrieve information, or to use the services in an abusive manner in connection with any unlimited packages, options or promotions.
Please acknowledge receipt of this notice within 24 hours, indicating your intention to rectify the situation. It would also be helpful if you provided us with some feedback on the activities you were engaged in so that we can advise you on the choice of a more appropriate product to suit your specific needs.

Failure to comply with this request will result in additional warnings being issued and will ultimately result in the cancellation of your service.

Since I'm forgiven could you help me with the decision ?
Bottom line is I'm not going to stop downloading so I have to choose another ISP. How is the Openweb Gold 4MB uncapped/unshaped account at R899 p/m ?

Sigh, another thread about this.
Another thread indeed.
If only these guys wouldn't go out to abuse the accounts so much (or breaching the T&C's) ..... they wouldn't be getting these warnings.

Openweb special:
4Mbps Gold Uncapped – R649pm (Normal Price: R738)

Their accounts are cool.

Yes, choose another one who does not give you grief like this

Ok so I opened an account with Openweb(the special). Will give it a month or 2 to see how it goes, and then maybe upgrade to the unshaped package.

In simple English they're just telling you to stop raping the Internet. :p

How can anybody "rape" the Internet ? Hey man, this is supposed to be an uncapped account. Go to Afrihost my friend. No problems with such messages. I am happy with them, for very long now.

Or use another ISP - problem solved.

Afternoon Robocop, how many warnings have you received? Please inbox me your MWEB account details, so I can have an understanding as to why you are receiving the warnings.
