So a while back a lot of people were saying a lot of nice things about Plugg uncapped. Since Mweb has been giving trouble with skype, I decided to try another option, so I tried plugg... I'm going to run them concurrently and post test results here...

Round 1 - Mweb wins convincingly (other than skype being properly broken)

Say na more.
Mweb international faster than Plugg local.

What line is this on? Is your exchange not the problem because nether of those look good.

some trace routes would be better than a speed test.
better? subjectively perhaps xD I was hoping someone would post a speed comparison between plugg & mweb so this is perfect, but would be nice if someone in JHB could do so as well, as I suspect it could be a regional IPC bottleneck in the area with IS

Looks like it could be a problem other then your data service provider... I trialed plugg and got results close to line speed during the duration of the trial, day and night.

Define problem - I don't think Plugg expect all their clients to get close to line speed. Besides, I have a 4Mbps uncapped account and a 10Mbps line. I'm not going to get close to line speed. That said, I think early next month it might be better depending on the pool reset.

I have to say that right now I'm hosting a 5 way Skype with EL, Joeys (SA), DC and NH (USA) and it's soooo clear. Mweb failing on the skype side was the reason for my move to Plugg. So far so good.
