MWEB... WOW!

Good for you! I wish I could share your enthusiasm.

I have been a subscriber to MWEB (and previous companies which they took over etc) since 1996. I pay my account by debit order a year in advance (my account is paid until 28 Feb 2011). At this stage I cannot even consider using Google Earth or You Tube for fear of running over the 3GB cap. Why?

The saga so far:
1. Existing (loyal) subscribers are shoved to the back of the queue - our accounts will only be uncapped from May.
2. Battled for 3 days to get an answer to the 08600 32000 number. Finally got through today.
3. I don't want any speed increase (i.e. nothing further to pay), merely to enjoy the cap being lifted.
4. The technicians cannot uncap my account because "Client Services" have to enable the account! Client services do not work on weekends.

I suppose they've got my money and now I don't matter.

No we don't. All you need to do is phone sales and tell them to upgrade your existing account to the new uncapped option. Did ours this morning, took me 5 minutes after getting through to the rep.

@stefan9. Read points 2 and 4 of my "saga" again.

4. They might not be able to uncap you but they should be able to upgrade your account.
1. I think this depends who you speak with when you get through. On friday I tried but I used the account query option instead of sales and was told they would automaticly upgrade our account. Today I chose the sales department option and the lady there upgrade the account for me.

my application really took the length of a telephone call. if i was at home at the time, i got the impression i could have entered the details after the call and been flying.

Don't we have a praise-your-ISP thread? My account was done over the phone and activated before I faxed the documents, or so I was told. Haven't managed to get it working yet. Will have to call the support line later today.
