My 1st another SUV thread...

I test drove it as well ...really enjoyed the space and comfort

Thats the only concern is the consumption ... 10-11 is fine but over that is crazy

Lovely car. My brother is in a similar boat... that’s the only thing stopping him.

10-11 is fine? Geez

My 2014 Xtrail gets me 8.6 city and about 7.6 to 8 long distance. Diesel. Its a great option if you can find one in your price bracket.

I test drove the 2.0 x trail and for some reason felt like a bakkie ..

The CRV was way ahead in comfort ...Is the newer models x trails better ?

I may be driving the one you tried, one model down from the latest one. To me it feels great, definitely not like a bakkie, maybe its the diesel engine and the sound it creates, which I love. Very comfortable ride I think and handles well. Goes forever as well.

Ive never driven the CRV, always felt they are too small for me and my fam, similar to the Rav4, which is fantastic to drive and very comfy. Toyota afterall, very good quality and cheap to maintain. Honda is expensive to maintain.

Will be a waste of time.Lot's of these JHB CBD and Bruma area "car dealers" are Nigerian guys who buy scrap vehicles or accident damaged vehicles then repair them sub par and resell at bargain prices, the problem is these cars drive crap and are sometimes missing airbags and are generally not something I would trust to transport my family or myself around with.

AAahh yeah i thought so as well ..lady said no accidents or anything and sounded like she knows nothing

That's weird because the "2000 - 2007" (Gen 1) X- trail platform is used to underpin the Nissan Almera while "2007 - 2013" (Gen 2) Nissan X-Trail platfrom was developed by Renault and is also used to underpin the 2003 Renault Megane.

Exactly this!

So i found a nice 3.0d X3 2007 model

Good price with most of the extras i was looking for ..and bought it

Has 182k on the clock and has lots of power ...quite a nice drive and quite big

x3 diff must be 100%, other than that its a good buy i guess!
crv alfa discs and pads R2k. ( although i went cheaper on the discs i came in under 15000 fitted.)

and there is no way a crv is "small"..its massive inside, and with the boot splitter it almost doubles your boot space effectively! if i can tell you what i've loaded in a crv you would not believe it!
