My Blackberry Z10 experience and problems

Loving my Z10, the keyboard is great with predictive spelling much better than IPhone, have the Lte version. Sometimes loose signal with Vodacom, but had same issues with IPhone 5.

For some reason my Z10 picks up update .82 but its already installed :erm: .

Battery life sucks, 1 day max with moderate usage , no 2G only hence the sucky battery life.

Go to Music or Games, click on the bottom right 3 dots, select Blackberry World.

You should be able to open directly thereafter.

i feel your pain ............. i never ever over charge my fone and always charge it when its in the yellow and i still get crappy battery life. 1 day max.

my wifes Z10 exact same story.

Are you guys on 10.0.10.99? I run 3G + Wifi (bluetooth is off though) and I use Waze, Flipboard, BBM, WhatsApp, email, about 1hour of phone calls a day. Took the phone off charge yesterday morning and right now (without charging) sit at 30%. Not wanting to risk running out of juice in the afternoon, I typically USB charge around lunchtime when I run low, but that's then almost 30 hours after I took the phone off charge.

I do notice that some non-native apps (Waze has it at times) make the phone run very hot and I think that drains battery very quickly.

I'm on version 10.0.10.99
I mainly use BBM and browsing the net for few times now and then during the day.
Few apps installed like , torch and few small apps.

Fully charged @ 8am and by 7pm its in the yellow.
I even switched to 2G to test and similar results.
Phone does not get hot ( back cover) unless u browsing the net for long time like hours.

I deleted 2 Apps which I had and since then battery life has improved alot.
(Apps were always closed never running in the background)

Fully charged at 9am Friday morning, Sunday morning it still had 1/4 life left and still would have lasted at least till 1pm.

Charged Sunday Morning and currently it just went from 3/4 to Half bar.

The 2 Apps I removed was:
1: VNC (Remote App)
2: Via/Air Remote (app used as a pc mouse via Wifi / 3G)

If anyone else finds apps that reduce battery life, please inform (with App name/s) fellow Z10 users in this thread.

tnx

if you have good signal, you have better battery life. If your network signal is low, the phone uses more power hence the shorter battery life. Possible scenario for you and the Mrs.

this is so true and this is how i know, other day @ work i had no Cell C reception, decided to call Cell C helpdesk and inform of the issue. Technician told me to Select Manual Option under Networks and select 2G and scan, then select Vodacom 2G (roaming?) and since then i noticed improved battery life.

Stronger Network will use less battery power as phone is not constantly searching to reception. (from what i have experienced)
