So I recently went on to WAPA to look for a wireless ISP.

I got emails back, but they are offering me fibre packages...

I don't ever recall fibre being installed in my area, but I might be wrong..

Is there any way I can confirm this?

I live in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.

Chances are they will only tell you about installation fee after you have shown interest in one of the packages. Could be a couple of grand to get the last mile installation done from the curb into your residence.

Yep TT are building in Bedfordview area :)

I took a look at the map. My area in Bedfordview is still on the 2-6 months section, so I don't know if the map is updates or if ISP's have it wrong.

There was some construction happening at the entrance of my road. Initially I thought they were making a circle, but I did see some long ass cable wrapped around a wheel that they were pulling up the main road 2 weeks back.

Could that have been the fibre?

Could be TT Connect, it's possible they're maps need some updating.

If that's the case, then I'm definitely interested.

I saw their site and it looks like SA Fibre does the best deal.

Issue is, won't they need to get a certain amount of people in my complex to install it?

I know my landlord won't mind. He actually thinks is a good idea and the body corporate won't mind doing it, but they're currently focusing on increasing the security of our complex right now.

Have you had a look at our offerings?

Drop a mail to [email protected] and we will follow up with TT Connect if you're part of their deployment. Please include your physical address obviously.
