So i've had an interesting few weeks. Ordered a package with afrihost, i know everyone is saying stay away but I've used them before and had good service. Anyways lets get to the point. Ordered the package, next day router gets to my place, following day open serve phones to say they want install that day.....we all know that didn't happen, or so i thought. It turns out that they did infact come to install and complete the job leading to my ticket being closed, just that they installed it at the wrong unit in my complex!!!.

My first follow up with afrihost, a lady told me my ticket was closed, the same day or the next day a different dude tells me that it is still open, one day later i get an email from him asking if they made contact and to keep them updated, that was the last i heard from afrihost until i phoned in.

Dude from open serve that told me they installed at the wrong unit said he would do the install that day, we know that didn't happen.

Anyways its not afrihost's fault, i know they have no control over the last mile provider, what i would like to get across is that you really just need to be like a nut case and get try to get updates everyday or else your ticket will just sit.

So to conclude, getting fibre almost seems to be like a tv drama show as everyone on my bb that reads the fibre threads would know.

Hope the rest of you ladies and gents have a better experience!

You ordered through afrihost, their responsibility to keep you in the loop.

Either dumb lucky or a coincidence but an hour after making this thread i got a call, its all ready to go. Guy who installed it at the wrong place stayed for the other guy to get home to swap the boxes as my line was already activated on that box.

Hopefully when i get home and config the router it all works.
