My first Mechanical Keyboard

nobody else having problems with key bounce? or key chatter.

for example you type: e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e
and you get: eee e ee e e eee ee eee ee eee

Really frustrating.

Never had that with the CMStorms. They have the "00" bug though. If you hold the "00" button and then "a" and let go of "00" it'll print "aa". It's obscure and you probably won't come across it unless you go looking for it.

I have the corsair vengeance K65, liked the reviews and was looking for a compact, but honestly I have no problem going back to membrane. But I am a casual gamer so that's expected.

yes, it is.

Just order yourself a WASD.

Better than the DAS imho

I would like to mention the Meka range of keyboards.

I had space limitations previously so I bought the Meka Tt.
It has Cherry MX black keys which means it's not very clicky clacky and the response is excellent in games.
Typing it is a bit different and takes some getting used to.

It sells for a fair bit less than other mechanical keyboards.
I bought the Meka Tt for around R500.

Gold Plated usb, braided cables, etc.

I would highly suggest it at the price and compared to higher end Mechanical keyboards it is great.
I have had mine for about a year now and really have no complaints.

I love the sound mechanical keyboards make. I have a Razor Blackwidow, the cheaper one without the backlit keys but it's working flawlessly.

Have I mentioned the I love the sounds these keyboards makes. Oh I believe I did. ;)

cluck cluck cluck cluck cluck cluck

:D

Also useing the Logitech G710+

Bought it last year. No problem with it yet. Definitely makes a lot less noise than my friend's Razer Mech keyboard.

I have a TT eSports MEKA G1 with Cherry Blacks which I got at a great price (on the same Takealot sale as Electric's I'm sure!). Very impressed with the black switches (silent) in terms of response, travel, and feel - great for gaming, typing, and whatever else you want. I might try red switches in my next keyboard but I don't think this one will ever die - it's built too damn well.

Just make sure you're happy with the characteristics of the switch colours you're getting, as per the link further back in this thread.

i got the G710+ it feels smooth and its not loud at all, just great for typing on, (brown switch)

i had a chance to test out the green switch from razer and they feel fantastic and sound great, some may get annoyed by its clicking :P

id say brown switch is a good choice for all around,

typing on a membrane keyboard feels horrable now, have to press hard, keys are mushy, keys wiggle to much, its worth getting a mech!

as for the mouse get a G502,only cost a tiny bit more, and its a GREAT mice ,
if u order one ,send one this side also *winks*

I have a logitech G510 I think it's mechanical it's really a sweet keyboard

I remember when real men had AT mechanical keyboards that would kill the dark green motherboards when they were unplugged while powered.

I'm very confused by all this mechanical stuff and you seem on the same thought pattern as I am.

Do all these ones basically just want to go and play on old pre-touch type keyboards? I'm that case I just threw three or four away the other day.

it's not mechanical...but it is very nice.

*typed on my Logitech G510*

so is the Razer Blackwidow thingummy the most affordable full-size mechanical around? May give mechanical a bash if not overly-pricey.

Have the Cooler Master quickfire rapid-i in cherry mx-blue for work.

Best. Keyboard. Ever.

You can even play snake on it. :)

I have the same for home, at work I have a Zalman with Kalith red.

What I would love is for the person who wrote the snake hack to turn the lighting macros into keypress macros. THAT would be great.
