Hi what is the cheepest internet in SA speed is not a problem (NB I dont want dailup ) and will only be used for email so prepaid or a verry low cap would work ... so what is the cheapest 3g adsl neotel , iburst ????

thanks in advanced ./..

Cell C prepaid for R999 per annum, assuming that you have a modem. Else +R500.

Or you could buy a Huawei K3565 for R369 from Hifi Corp or CNA.

But you may have to wait until its released in Pretoria, or get a mate to buy it in Durban, Cape Town, etc.

You'll have to wait until the middle of November though...If Pretoria is announced the same time as JHB.

Cybersmart, ADSL line rental and 1gb cap is R149, bear in mind that a standard voice line rental is not included.

I would go for Cellular Prepaid. Can load a 10mb bundle on MTN for R10 and when this expires do again. Better then letting your bundle go to waste.

What's your Gran's hardware setup, location (might have to check coverage maps of your ISP etc.) and realistic requirements.
If it's purely to send/receive the odd email then I'd say go for 3G prepaid.

Get your gran to setup an EL-proxy server running the latest ESG-EL version and route the incoming traffic to the outgoing packets on the back-end, so that local http Protocols get re-directed to her cheaper local only unshapped SAIX based account and Int uses the throttled shapped Express account.
This way she can surf on local unshaped http servers but still be able to access IP's outside of ZA, and backdoor into the Blocked Zones manually by using regular tunneling protocols via the TCP/IP Dialup Net-Bios interface using Packets from her static IP on the bridged network.

Be sure to teach her to ping too, in case she runs into a few problems with this kind of setup.
