My INSANITY Experience

Yes, but I only redid the first 30 days. When I started the second 30 days I struggled maintaining good form with some of the exercises. Instead of injuring myself, I went back and redid the first 30 days again (for the total of 30 days - so I actually did Insanity for 90 days). After I redid it, I found the second 30 days were much easier (but still Insane). :D You will notice that a lot of the earlier exercises are the stepping stone to the more advanced exercises. If you are not able to complete the first cycle with relative ease, the second cycle will be brutal.

Insanity do not focus on muscle gain. It is more focused on fitness. I did notice changes in my legs, but not huge. If muscle gain is a priority something like P90X should be considered above Insanity. After Insanity my resting heart rate dropped from above 65 to below 55. So I am fitter now, but I am overweight, so muscle gain will not necessarily be visible. Hope this helps, and good luck with Insanity.

Thanks, reason I'm not doing P90x is cause I don't have the equipment needed.

Day 5: Pure Cardio (23/06/2012)

Wow this is crazy, basically a warmup which is like a full workout, then a short break and then around 20-25 mins of crazy cardio exercise!

:wtf: 1.87m and 72kg? minimum healthy weight for that height is 10kg more.

I'm 1.87m... and my body fat at 8% is 90kg. (although I'm 100 odd)

Yeh I'm skinny! :P I wouldn't think of myself as unhealthy though.

Anyway, I'm on Day 8 and did the Cardio Power and Resistance today - pretty much still as crazy as last time I did it!

Okay so I slacked off for some time as I was feeling rather crap mentally but now I forced myself to start again today.

Did cardio recovery - I quite like this as it really works your muscles out.

Good for you. I enjoyed Insanity immensely. I looked for a new challenge and combined Insanity with Power Half Hour and P90 (not P90x). I am currently on my second week. Makes quite an interesting workout. I usually try to workout in the evening and mornings. I quite enjoy this. Not able to always keep the schedule, but it is better than doing nothing at all. Also, weight loss is not my primary focus. I am overweight and I realized, while completing Insanity for the first time, that diet (i.e. correct eating) is the biggest part of weight loss. I completed the whole Insanity and only lost about 6kgs. I do however feel way better and I am able to move with greater ease and comfort. Power levels are up and my resting heart rate dropped from 68+ to below 55. Insanity is no walk in the park... but keep at it.

Cardio Power and Resistance - I am focusing more on the exercises that work your upper body as I need some work with regards to muscles there.

That is my exercise for tomorrow morning :)

Reading this thread made me realise that I need to start doing something too... So I am in the process of..."acquiring"...the workout DVD's as well.

I guess I will have to let you know later if I am grateful or if I hate you for sharing your experience... :D

Good stuff!

Today was the second fit test and I am happy to report that I improved in all areas!
