My latest adventure...

"We" go through Neotel reps like I go through Coffee... I can't wait till one day we find one who stands up and helps everyone and has the balls to admit issues and such etc.

All I want is a honest open rep who does his best for us (and others)

You keep saying that... sometimes I wonder! :p

No need to wonder we all know the truth... maybe that is why the rep is taking so long to respond to my mail... he appears to be logged into 2 computers at once:rolleyes:

Got a response from Jean (I mean the Rep)

Here is my mail:
Following the thread on the mybroadband forums I have decided to email you my cancellation query here. At the beginning of the month I instructed my secretary to cancel my neotel contract for me and she phoned your call centre. The operator on the line confirmed that they will be sending me a cancellation form immediately. After a few days of waiting not receiving the cancellation form I took it upon myself to cancel in writing. The reasons for termination include serious coverage and speed degradation (speeds of 20KB/s) as well as frequent dropped and no throughput connections. These are all outlined in my attached letter of termination. Upon following up on my termination with your call centre I was told that the query was escalated but I haven't heard from them since.

Kindly make arrangements to pick up your phone. I will post your response on the mybroadband site.

Response:
Thank you for the mail and attachment.

Mpho is going to ensure this is actioned immediately.

We’ll keep you posted on the progress during the course of the day, and mail you if there is anything in particular we need to complete the process.

I went home quickly earlier to check on my Neotel connection (in truth, I was in the area) and it seems to still be behaving itself, doing 70-80KB/s which I'm 90% happy with.
I'd be 100% happy if I was getting 100KB/s ±

Hopefully things will stay the way it is.

Update for today (being the 19th November 2009)

My line is playing nice, last night for about 2 hours it was doing 10KB/s but after say 10/11pm, it jumped between 60 - 90KB/s

Don't know what the technicians did (Marius said "upgrades" were done) but it seems to be working... for now ;)
