at about 8:20am this morning (just after I left home) my ADSL died.
According to my roomy - everything is on and such at home.

Anyone else having issues?

Weird, but strange this happens the day after I went on at MWEB regarding the horrible shaping!

It was dead at the office when I came from my exam. Just had to reboot the router.

My MWEB is flying today. its 12:03 and no shaping at all. You might want to investigate your Line because all my Downloads are running at 100%

Same here, experiencing no shaping today. Though had a rough week to begin with. Battle to get good speeds since monday, even after business hours. Until today, I used to get avg of 25kb on torrents and 2-3kb during the day. So for now I'm smiling :) And Http is always full speed no matter what.

Yup , I just stopped all my downloads , restarted my router and started them again and Everything is still running at 100%. So no complaints here :D

I have not had an issue with my Mweb 384k uncapped account since signing up... actually I lie twice I had no international for about a minute and that was while they switched over to redundancy plans when Seacom had issues.

This is why deciding which ISP to go with is so difficult, there seems to be different experiences related by everyone. Some have no problems. Others seem to only ever have problems.

The amount of reboots my router has experienced this week is...shocking...

Would that be MWeb or your router?

I too have had two occasions in which I have had to switch my router on and off. Although the lights all still say the right things I get no connection on my laptop. Reboot sorts it out.

I'm also thinking that. Some people are having a blast with the service, experiencing low, or no shaping and other people constantly getting low speeds on all fronts. It must be their shaping machine causing this. Only a certain amount of people actually get enough bandwidth not to get caught by shaping, while the other fall in the group where there isn't enough bandwidth. Thus the shaping. Might be totally wrong....

mweb 384 uncapped

And no offence , but theres no way you can accurately say that "most" users are having slow download speeds.

Yup, MWEB. With me it's just speed. 11PM at night and getting 5-10KB isn't something I find attractive. Reboot my router a couple of times usually sorts it out, boosts it 25kb most of the time. But today, I'm hitting full speed all the way. Beats me, but I'm happy. :)

Shaping is not based on area , thus the area you live in will not affect whether you get shaped or not. I have not heard of anyone who has been on MWEB for longer than 2 weeks and got constant slow speeds for the full duration. After the SEACOM nonsense there has been a lot of trouble , so people that signed up after or during the SEACOM episode might be feeling as if they are getting constant slow speeds but I'm sure all will be restored in due time.

ofcourse not but judging from all the feedback here it seems that more and more people are having speed issues.

I only joined on the 23rd April and this has been my usage on my 384k uncapped account, Seacom problems and all :
