My MWEB is dead...

Shaping is not based on area , thus the area you live in will not affect whether you get shaped or not. I have not heard of anyone who has been on MWEB for longer than 2 weeks and got constant slow speeds for the full duration. After the SEACOM nonsense there has been a lot of trouble , so people that signed up after or during the SEACOM episode might be feeling as if they are getting constant slow speeds but I'm sure all will be restored in due time.

I'm not saying that is based on the area you live it. I'm saying its based on the available bandwidth. Some people just fall in the group where there is enough bandwidth, thus they don't experience low shaping. They squeeze past everyone else, who ends up being shaped. Like first come first serve. If there is enough bandwidth on the network even during business hours, some people will get full speeds on p2p... and they do. And when those gaps of bandwidth are filled, the other people then experience shaping. Makes sense? I'm not saying its a selected group, it depends all on the network. I think that's why some days, you'll have no shaping at all, and other days you end up with extreme low speeds. Sometimes you squeeze through, and end up with the available bandwidth during business hours. Not saying this is how it works, just how I think it works.

Either You misunderstood me or I'm reading your reply wrong . I was trying to point out that people joining then MIGHT have experienced bad speeds , I was not saying everyone IS experiencing bad speeds , I mean , I for one am very happy

I doubt it works like that , but I'll hold my opinion for someone more informed to reply.

No, I didn't misunderstand you at all. I was just demonstrating how even someone who joined just prior to the issues has still not had any problems. The amount downloaded is fairly constant for me too.
