Hey there guys.... I narrowed my bandwith being wasted down to my desktop PC that is permanently connected to my router via lan cable... The part I dont understand is all updates is already up to date... That includes Windows, my anti virus and malwarebytes.... I noticed a use of nore than 3gb in one afternoon... This cant be right... But I dont know what is using the data.... If I unplug my desktop pc the bandwith usage stops...

Is there a way that I can locate or monitor what exactly is using the bandwith? I just to basic browsing now and then but sudely 200mb per day should cover that.. Lol bot 20% of my cap for one day...

I already tried to check in windows firewall but cabt see anything...

What do you guys suggest?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Get a proper firewall. Try Outpost/Comodo, and block everything- allow one app at a time and monitor it from there...

Oh, also install malwarebytes and run a scan to be safe.

Torrents are queued by scheduler to start after midnight and stop at 6am as then I get free data... So no, unless the ads in utorrent uses that much, ot cant be them...
I have noticed it 3 days ago... I have a 20gb cap, and by the time I started up the pc at about 11am, the usage was still on like 3% of my cap... At about 6pm the afternoon my usage was at almost 30%... And all I done was play Crysis 2.... Nothing else... And steam is disabled abyway?

Malwarebytes is installed and up to date... I think I should try the firewall thing...

Zonealarm can also blocks apps. It asks whether the app can go online or not. You can even lock down the computer from going on the internet.

You can check whats downloading with the built in windows performance monitor.

Thanks guys, I will try some of the suggestions here and give feedback.. It will only be Sunday or Monday probably, as Im going to a wedding today and will only be back Sunday...

most probably a virus sending out email spam for viagra (I had that before)

Not a fundi but doesn't Activity Monitor shows what's moving? Mine seems to and I just quit whatever it is. ??
