My sonoff camera arrived.. and I'm impressed

I have several Hikvision cams and they work fine with my no name DVR .
What are you trying to record on and what model cams ?

So I have a provision DVR SA-8200HDE (https://www.comx-computers.co.za/SA...Standalone-H-264-960H-100fps-Buy-p-144261.php) and I bought
Hik Model DS2CE56DOT (https://www.hikvision.com/en/produc...rbo-HD-Cameras/Value-Series/DS-2CE56D0T-IRPF/).

Alarm guy said the Hik won't work. When I plugged it in using a coaxil cable, nothing came through on the DVR.

Have had it at various places over the last few nights and I can't complain. Unbox was easy / Setup was easy / RTSP was easy (just testing to VLC)

Dr Z also likes it :

Will point it out into the garden tonight to test the IR
Can you please help met get the rtsp working in VLC? Got the sonoff camera working on the ewelink app and I went into settings and got the rtsp link. But VLC says it cannot access the device. I changed the VLC setting for streaming over to rtsp.

If you have tried the toggle switch the resolution on the Hicvision cam is to high for the DVR , the cam being a 2Meg .

Watched it now, I copied the link from the app. Was able to get the stream in Tinycam on my phone as well so it works. Just want to get it working on the Win10 pc as well. And on the Mi box on the TV.

Will play around a bit more, thanks.

Which Android TV app you going to use?

I've only got the one... But yeah it's been working great on my patio. Don't use it extensively... But when I need picture it's there :)

For outside I've been eyeing these ones. Seems to get good reviews on AMAZON. Linking it to their poe switch should make cabling easy.

Hi

Do you know if these cameras will work with the ewelink app?

I have the Sonoff camera linked via RTSP into Blue Iris, but I notice every now and again the feed drops for up to 10 seconds at a time. Thought it was the wifi, but now on LAN cable it does the same. When it drops it looks like I can still view it via Ewelink app. Is Blue Iris the problem because it is pulling the stream 24/7?

I have no experience with Sonoff cameras, but I have BI with 10 Reolink IP cameras recording 24/7 and two of those cameras permanently displayed on a wall mounted tablet. No dropouts ever, so I doubt BI per se is your problem. It can be anything though. Have a look at the BI logs, do they show the cameras dropping out?

I have 3 Reolinks also in Blue Iris atm, still need to put up the other 3. They are fine. Will see if I can find the logs to see what is happening. I think the issue is the camera itself that does not want to run the RTSP stream 24/7?

I have this weird issue where settings don't stick.

I change the timezone, save and then when I go back it's still still on +8 instead of +2

I go and enable local record ( SD card in etc) I go back and local record is off again, as if the setting / action did not register.
