Not sure what you're referencing there but i assume it's graphics. There really isn't much to tell the multiplats apart, so we'll have to look at exclusives on that front.

Best looking console game currently on any console platform: KZ2

Best looking game at E3: Uncharted 2.

Best exclusives currently available and best forthcoming exlcusives: PS3.

EA admitted at E3 that the 360 has been maxed out, the PS3 - not so much. ;)

So when you say "not yet" or "coming soon", i assume you must be stuck in a mental time warp that somehow prevents you from moving on. I feel for you man, i really do...

I actually meant with everything ;)

Every comment is met with 'coming soon' from the start of the the console.

Where are the games? Coming soon ....
The graphics aren't that good ... why? They're ported ... exclusives are better (coming soon)
The graphics in these exclusives aren't great either ... why? Yea - the developers haven't got the hang of it yet ... but they'll harness the full power soon
GT5Prologue doesn't even have skidmarks! It's a demo they charge for - but the real one will have
When is that out? Not sure -but coming soon ...

hee - you know it's true ;)

But anyway the initial point of this post was - from my experience - show that neither Blu Ray nor game graphics are hugely different from DVD/Xbox graphics. I didn't say no difference, I did say reasonably small ...

But this has been known for quite some time now. What I find more surprising is that you did not know this :confused:
 
Well ... I was going on what people told me. I heard people tell me how huge this technology actually was and it feels as if the people are walking towards you and jumping out of the screen. I needed to get a PS3 to benefit and I really thought I was missing out. Even in this thread, people have said the difference is huge.

So I decided to try it out and do some reading and it's ... kinda ... good. Certainly better - but as much as what people claim ... ? Not enough to warrant me buying a new screen

You have been talking to the wrong people (read: Trolls / Fanboys). I have a 360 and a PS3 and the graphical difference is not much - if at all. In some cases the PS3 is even worse (like in SF IV).

But, the PS3 has the advantage of all those Vector processing units. And Intel have been pushing Ray Tracing in games. And the PS3 is perfectly suited for that.

The PS3 has a 10 year life cycle for a reason.

and if i'm not very much mistaken, Mr Kojima (Sony Superhero) stated the same thing about PS3 a loooooong time ago already. it depends on who you believe and what you want to believe i suppose.

Touched a nerve, have i?;)

Look, these statements always need to be taken with a pinch of salt, but the statement came from the EU Vice President of EA. So either he knows what he's talking about, or he was just stirring for the hell of it.

And wrt your last statement, my PS3 games library is close to 40 + games (exclusing downloaded PSN games) so trust me, got pleeenty to play. ;)

You're probably right though - Xbox is maxed while the PS3 isn't maxxed out yet so developers can do more soon, as show it's true potential shortly - which means the PS3 graphics will be awesome in the future - especially when the next generation exclusive are out in 6-12 months

yeah, the problem i have with this is the VP of EA is not a developer and couldn't give 2 shirts about what can and cannot be done as he just wants to shift units. that being said, he drives a much better car than i do, so he wins

You made a slight mistake there. Not to worry, let me help you.
Current PS3 exclusives already blow 360 exclusives out of the water, some in the graphics department, most in gameplay and innovation, so imagine how fantastic PS3 exclusives are gonne be in the next 6 - 12 months. The gap's starting to widen, so imagine the chasm that will open in 2-3 years time.
