Hi folks

You might have noticed that the amount of news published on the front page has increased significantly over the past few weeks.

Do you like the wider coverage?
Do the more frequent updates suit you?
Currently we publish most news as it comes in (like News24), but maybe another system with updates at certain times will be better?

Any feedback regarding the news section (main page at www.mybroadband.co.za) will be appreciated.

Regards,

RPM

Yes and Yes to the first two questions. No to the last.

Thanks RPM

myadsl main site

i agree, it is perfect the way it is,

what would be brilliant is a newsletter of every new story that is added?

I like it the way it is, I'm just a bit disappointed about the issue I raised with you in a PM, RPM - that of RSS feeds not showing front page news :(

I use RSS for everything else, but have to check MyADSL manually which is a bit of a pain (but I still check every few hours)

I visit about 10 times a day to see the NEW news...

It's very interesting to see up to the minute news on the subjects you cover.

I just read your story about MTN and CellC beefing up their data speeds.

It's nice to see a new story every time I visit the page...

Like previously suggested - do not show new "off-topic" threads under "Latest forum topics".

Maybe also have the "news of the week" listed in bigger font at the top. Currently this changes daily. Give more eye-time to the biggest news of the week. Like for this week it can be "Licensing the SNO".

Newsletter and RSS feed

Hi RPM,

I also like the newsletter idea - daily (all news items of the day, only heading and link) and weekly (summary of most important news items). A newsletter would also create a nice new source of advertising revenue.

A RRS feed will be great for people who want to syndicate the news into blogs and portals.

Regards,

I don't mind checkin up on MyADSL as many times as it takes to keep track of stuff. RSS is blocked at my work so it makes no difference.

I enjoy knowing that there is always a lot of different news on the site. I reckon you've done a great job of keeping everything relevant RPM.

its ok currently though i find that either the news page is delayed or stuck in the network cache cause the forums on news topics seem to pop up faster than it displaying on the front page. Other than that its seem fine to me.
