MyBB BF3 Clan

Easy folks, easy, it's still early days, like I said, those who want can step up in game and when we register for tourney/league we make more official designations but the nice thing about the squads and being so small is that everyone at some point should lead a squad .... because teamies die and those critical seconds of revive and re-adjust are crucial.

Oh thats another thing by the way folks. Keep in mind that in a squad you are a mobile spawn point so if you are the last guy standing and being hunted, go to ground and have your squad re-formup and take them out together.

Oh sorry, I didnt really mean for tournaments or anything. I just meant for casual play. Thought it would be cool to play with a more formal regular unit (formal is probably the wrong word. Consistent maybe?) - but yeah, I agree. Early days yet. Hopefully see you boys tonight.

This is all very exciting! Just wish I could play as often as I would like to! Between work, studying and family! Dammit!

Just clear up a few things about the squad, regard to the league.

Current we only have one leaque squad which can only consist of 8 players per match, this said we could consider a 2nd squad,
A squad and B squad. (the down side is you might end up competing against one another, unless we can prove squad A is in a better league than B.)
"A" squad needs to be the better and more determined players who will, without fail, be available for every match, for RL issue we'll have reserves. Those that have played in the league before, know how much fun it was,but also knows how taxing/tiring it gets towards the end.

"B" squad can be for the misfits and those keen for a match now again. Here we will fill the sqaud in almost, a first come, first serve basses if need be.

So with this in mind we'll have 4 squads each consisting of 4 players (2 squads for "A" and 2 for ""B")
this means we should look at 4 squad leaders and one Platoon leader.
The Platoon leader will be required to organise the leaque match's, bookings etc and co-ordinate the squad leaders.

Moving over to multi these squad leaders can grab a squad and other members can join on them. If by luck we have all squads on , the chances are we can full oneside, as attacker/defenders etc. Hate to know what ppl will think when all oneside is running with myBB tags lol.

All above is open for debate and better suggestions.

those that take recon should consider the mobile spawn point device as a option, just make sure you hide it as the enemy can destory it if they find it.

Don't worry Hope, Kosmik and I are in the same position.

Kosmik I bought a baby holder, I wanna try it out tonight, so I can jam and look after baby at the same time

Sounds good. Admittedly I've never played fps's competitively so take my comments with a grain of salt. As you guys say it is early days yet. Was just thinking it would be a good idea for people to sus out who they gel with in a squad over the next while so that we have a situation where various people start forming up into the various squads on a semi regular basis in casual play - so that we can start practicing together? I dont know if this might be a bit restrictive for people so not sure if it would work.
Anyway, just a thought.

I think that the point Kosmik was aiming at, lets just first learn to get along, kk Random where you my knife is sharp again :)

Hey Mike7, what's your IGN? Like Sundstromenator says, it helps if you have a squad of guys to tag along with in the beginning. Makes the whole game experience more forgiving because you have someone who can revive you and on whom you can spawn.

Yeah I'll try that tonight. Is it only the assault class that can revive?

Do the co op with some of the squad. I'm willing to join.

Hehe sweet. I got a dinner with friends tonight so probably won't be on although maybe later. Guys don't stress if you think you have little time, the myBB group has always been a bit of a gateway drug, not serious but enough to get your feet wet and if you want to move on to a more serious clan once experiances no probs but there are a lot of us who work, have kids etc who still want to experiance the camraderie of a clan when they are able to. Most important is for us to have fun together. I know it sounds cliche but there is no experiance like playing as a well moulded team.

We had a nice one yesterday where we split the squad and some guys held of folks down the road and I kept an eye on a back alley to stop guys flanking us. Perfect teamwork.

@ Dark Cloud

Some advice. I'm also new to this whole FPS thingy.
Do the single player first. It doesn't not take that long.
Then so some co op with some friends. It gets tough and can be fun.
You can also do some multiplayer games in between but focus on the above first.
You'll get better. I'm level 5 and last night I won, yes won a 2 games. I also got owned in another but I see progress.

Useful advice for the guys just getting into fpses but thats not where my inexperience lies. I've played fps since doom days. Have been playing multiplayer since that time too - everything from doom through to the cods and arma 2. What I meant is that I have never played online in a clan tournament. As in a formal team vs team organized event.

No worries though =) Good advice none the less

Then use the co op. You play with some of the guys against the computer. Think of it as your multiplayer training simulator.

or you could just join a squad in multi, take your time running behind the squad, learn the maps and level up your weapons,
soon you'll be running in front or with the pack.

Im like level 17. Not always top of the log but got a couple mvp ribbons under my belt. Im doing okay for now. Am keen for some co op though.

Hahaha! Yeah that was my tank. Got a bit reckless and tried to ramp the stairs. Massive fail.
The round before that was intensely epic. When the whole squad was in the BMP cruising round to flags. Loved the dynamic - get near the flag, infantry unloads and then moves up with the bmp covering. Super effective. We should definately try that again.

Speaking about squad leading I would like to be considered to lead a squad. Not from an egotistical standpoint - just that I've had some experience squadleading in arma and really enjoy that side of things. Leadership to me is about facilitating the strengths of the squad and kind of sheparding that towards a common goal. I dont believe in dictatorial leadership - humble yet assertive leadership is my game - calling on the wisdom of the group as much as possible but making sure that the outcome is effective and goal orientated. Anyway - Im sure some guys can attest to this. Saying all that - If others are more suitable I have no problem following either. As long as we kick ass and take names I'll follow to grave. Respawn after respawn =p .

Also - if we have multiple squads it could be worthwile structuring them into infantry/ mechanized and logistics/ support. Had a bit of a taste of multiple squads working together with vehicles and infantry and we dominated. Transport alone is something that can be a game changer - getting a squad behind enemy lines and then supporting/ reinforcing them thorughout their op. Dig it! getting excited just thinking about it.

It was also really cool how are team mate jumped in a humvee and pushed us off. Now THATS teamwork :D

So for now, we just jam online and see how we all fit together. Even though I have only played once online with you chaps, I already feel like we work together really well, even though I am a bit of a noob :o

I'm happy to keep it informal for a bit, and later on we can start discussing clans, teams, etc :)
