Hi folks

I am really sorry about the downtime this morning.

Hetzner: The problem today was due to a power dip which caused unstable routing on the core access switch stack. The switch stack was rebooted, and this resolved the issue. After your second call, we also flushed the sleeping connections from the database (which was caused by the switch reboot) and all the websites were accessible again.

MTN Business (DC operator): MTN Business can confirm that all systems within the Gallo Manor Data Centre are operating at full functionality and no abnormalities have been experienced. We would therefore kindly ask that you contact your service provider directly to discuss the reason and detail behind any power dip you may have experienced. Please note that this facility is equipped with fully redundant A and B power feeds, thus allowing customers to mitigate any fault which may occur on one of the two feeds

We will update you as soon as we get more information.

Regards,
Rudolph

MyBB down?
Unacceptable!
Rant.......

Thanks for posting so quickly. If only all the service providers would be so quick to acknowledge a problem.

Hi folks

I am really sorry about the downtime this morning.

Initial indications suggest that a power problem in the MTN Business data centre caused problems with Hetzner infrastructure, and MyBroadband formed part of the affected sites.

We will update you as soon as we get more information.

Regards,
Rudolph

Did the primary, backup and ups power all fail at the same time?

Surely they have a 99.999% uptime SLA :wtf:

Yeah I always wondered what happened to these SLAs. In the past year MyBB has been going down more often than Paris Hilton's underwear :P

Any truth to the rumour that you were actually hosting the site on a blackberry and fell afoul of Vodacom's enhanced T&C?

Now that I think about it, we did transfer some files from the one server to the other :p

Did the flingleflangers also blow a fuse? I hope that the circuits on the backward-overflow quazars aren't damaged...
