New one is confusing. Old one is better:

If the font for the headings can be made a teeny bit smaller it will go down much better...

It's progress but it has some niggles. The typeset is off, why not look at something like TheVerge's style?

Their seem to be more adverts, either that or as a regular visitor my mind got used to where the ads were. Why have the comment and forum discussions been divorced from each other? Seems as disjointed as the current affairs section :D

Me too. Feels like Metro (aka Modern) but more chaotic :p

This was my second thought, my first was that my browser had failed to render the page properly.

Sorry, I think it's awful, information density has declined dramaticaly making it difficult to scan for items of interest. I cannot use it at all, and I'm likely to bypass the news page alltogether in future in favour of the forums where the information density is more appropriate.

Another thing, I've counted more than 11 ads on the front page. Doesn't Google push down sites with lots of adverts?

Already brought this up. There are 13 adverts on the home page...

Ease of being able to scan headlines and see what you want to read has dramatically reduced. Headings to large. Adverts seem far more prominent. I dont understand why so many pages these days are trying to do this box aka metro thing. I can understand some sites using it but news and information portals should be convenient and easy to read not flashy hip *looking* yet harder to read.

Im in two minds here. On one hand it somehow feel more modern, and the size would probably be great for tablets, but on a desktop it feels too big and the sections all just run into each other.
Its is a jarring change so would probably be good to have an update thread in a months time, asking our opinion again once we are a little more used to it. That said I would vote on the poll if there was a third option- "Need more time".
