I use a Android TV box, Mygica and on the start of national lockdown thought I would start using Netflix. Much to my amazement after staring an account on my phone and storing the password in a password safe we could not get the Mygica to work which is really were I planned to watch. So we tested it on Xbox that worked fine while the Mygica just reported a login in error as if there was a faulty password.
After contacting Mygica and Netflix the problem seemed that Netflix would no longer be supported on a Mygica 495x which seemed to strange as the remote has a dedicated Netflix button its not certified to run Netflix i was told.
Well the answer for this problem came to light when I cleared the cash from Netflex under the program management tools much like your phones settings. Netflix then requires an update and google play store won't lets it load as its not certified for Mygica 495x and they not going to bother because its a few years old and would like you to buy a new Android device. Support should not only be for new devices.... ? Anyway here is the solution uninstall Netflix search with google for an android device Netflix application install application from netflix site and it works, you have turn on install from unknown sources in your settings that is all. I also got U-tube up and running in the same way.
In this fix you need to find the file on a PC down load to the root of a memory stick plug into the Mygica and install from local don't try if from the Android box because you end up in play store and that simply says 'your device is not unsuitable or unsupported. The search was worded "download Netflix for Mygica androide TV" and result at help.netflix.com node Netflix says 'this app is not compatablevwith your device' The link looked like this https://www.google.co.za/url?sa=t&s...FjAPegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw2HW6fmufR3q_3ZeF1J0-IE
Following these instructions from a PC should get you up and running.
Has anyone else had an issue that because the device is older than year or two you find the support is equal to buy a new one to keep us going like rather buy a new PC with win 10 than upgrade your win 7 to win10 for free and forgetting to inform that the win 7 key is indeed valid.
TO FIX OR THROW - better to try than let it die???
I say save the world lets fix first then buy when its really needed.
