Mysterious battery drain while I am sleeping?

So, for the second time now this weekend, I wake up to see that the battery on my BB 9300 has been completely drained to the point that it has switched off its radio. First it happened on Saturday morning. I went to bed on Friday night and there was still about half left. I wake up and it is completely drained. I charged it full and rebooted the phone after the full charge. When I went to bed again last night there was still something like 80% left. When I woke up this morning, AGAIN, battery completely drained.

The only thing I can think of that might be causing this is that the network is acting up and making my BB's data connection go crazy sometime during the late hours of the night or early hours of the morning.

Have any of you guys had this before??? :confused::confused:
 
Check your background processes. I had this a while ago when I just exited my GPS on my storm 2 instead of closing the application.

Thats why I rebooted the phone yesterday morning after the first battery drain to make sure that there's no background apps running that I know about. The only things running is BBM and WhatsApp. This has never happened before. It is very very strange.
 
Do u have lookout? And is backup activated? Maybe the backup is failing which causes it to retry every few mins (every 5mins I think). Mines been doing that last few days but I've disabled backup so it doesn't drain my battery.

There aint nothing wrong with the battery though. It has been performing as it should since I got the phone. Even yesterday it was working great during the day. Made a few calls and still when I went to bed the battery was still on 80%. Something is happening to it while I am sleeping. Do you guys think it is reasonable to think that something might be happening to the network in my area that is causing my BB to try and do something with the data connection and that might be draining my battery?

Lookout and backup? whats that? I dont think I have these things. I just use gmail, BBM and WhatsApp on my phone.

It's possible but I also think a more plausible reason is that there are some apps running in the background (as per rezabz) that are draining your battery.

Someone must be getting into your place & using your phone to have phat chats with their buddies while you're sleeping...
 
Maybe your BB is swopping your personal data with your fridge, microwave oven, kettle, washing machine, dishwasher and stove. Terrible gossips, them lot!!!

ROFL. I think what I will do is switch my data services off tonight and see what happens. It is freaking me out man! Either aliens are invading my room and using my BB as a alternative power source or the network is bombing out during the night and draining my battery. Those are the only two logical explanations! :-)

Have you checked to see if your BB is making video recordings of your nocturnal activities and transmitting them world-wide???

DAMMIT!!! Told my Berry he is not allowed to have another boy over to the house after 9 at night! It seems the time has come for me to explain safe Bluetoothing to my Berry. He is all grown up now! *cries*
