MyWireless in Durban

Yeah, I'm in an area that is covered. Lets hope their website is correct! Does anyone know if Sentech offers demonstrations of their service? As in they come to your house with a laptop and show you what their service is capable of from your property?
 
I don't think they have time to offer that a demonstration at peoples homes. I think they should however go2 universities and show off their product!

With tears welling in my eyes after being rear-rammed by Telskum when they told me the cables in my complex were'nt up to scratch for ADSL, I am waiting feverishly for myWireless.

What's the deal with Durban? Why do I get the subtle feeling that Cape Town is being given more attention than Durban?

Anybody know what's the real deal on this? ProASM...'o knowledgeable one...please help???

I think they're concentrating (or it looks like they're concentrating) on cape town more because of the enviromental studies being dragged down by the municipality which would mean they'd have to push back the release date in cape town...

but proasm is in durban, so I think things are going to plan... right?
 
Durban is up and in beta testing atm. Capetown are long off :P

Only the "wealthy" areas are currently covered by MyWireless. Middle class suburbs will only be covered by Oct 2004 - I have made the decision to go with Telskum ADSL cant wait that long.

In the not to distant future (when the dust has settled) we will be setting up a MyWireless playroom at our offices here where the public can come do their thing and test out all the various options.

I live in the Sherwood/Westville area. I've been checking on the coverage map and it says there's no coverage plans for this area? NOOOOOooooo!!!!! Overport is like 3 kms as the crow flies...how can this be?

So that leaves me feeling like a discarded male tampon...no ADSL cos Telkom says the lines in my complex are not up to scratch, and now I can't have myWireless cos they got no plans for coverage in my area. Makes me wanna get some of my neighbours together and toyi-toyi or something...

Proasm...please help!!????
 
Welcome To my Word ey,I must be in the worse place for broadband rollout.

Can't get mywireless till who knows when,and can't get adsl either,unless telskum expect me to wait till march 2005.

oh well what can you do,Guess i'll just have to leech my work's bandwith.[:D]

I feel the same way - Bellair/Hillary area cannot do ADSL - Cables to old (Applied for ADSL and was told this - another reaseon that I can only connect at 33.6k and keep getting dropped lines) and Telkom are not planning an upgrade in the near future.

Yup.. in Hillery-Escombe area. No ADSL, No sentech.. All my neighbours are too poor to afford any of it anyway so I doubt they'd cover the area to get like 2 customers.

Do you have details of the rollout phases for the Durban area? ie when and what areas will be covered in phase 2 and 3.?
