Since the CT launch, I can finally lived the dream and ditched my telkom fixed line. However, I live in a VERY big house (consisting of about 5 other big houses) and I have a very large family, consisting of about five other families. All of us desperately require my MyWireless to be shared... Sooooo

Given the scenario that my big house is already wired with a fixed 100mb/s ethernet network and that my family have all already been sharing a dialup internet connection, I would appreciate help on the folowing issues. I do no know of anyone in CT with a MyWireless service yet so please excuse my ignorance.

I believe myWireless is shipped with a USB type cable modem but there is a cable for ethernet that can be bought somewhere. Could someone please tell me about that?

I also believe that running myWireless USB off a linux server and running something like IPCop and then setting up each client with a gateway to that server is actually a viable idea and the usb issue would not be an issue with Linux and IPCop. Could someone please tell me more about that.

Finally, It seems that the mebers of this forum are fairly conversant in the seemingly good or bad service of Sentech. I assume that their service cant get as sad as telkoms. Could someone please tell me more about that.

"oh bother" said pooh, as the last standing Telkom employee is blown to pieces with his minigun

Since very few people are reading the forums right now.. Its in your interest to search on the forum for terms like "network sharing", "smoothwall", "MTU", "slow" "good" "IPCop" "firewall" and so on. do some reading, there arent 10000+ posts for nothing. All your questions should be answered but if there is anything else feel free to post again and someone will help you. Keep in mind that it is not necessary to use a standalone Linux server (unless you are that way inclined) and you have quite a few options. Also, the USB cable works just fine.

Yes- it ships with a USB cable.
Yes- you can get a ethernet cable. Up here we buy it from Wirecomm... not sure where you will get it in CT? You simply connect it to a second NIC on your firewall and then run PPPoE on that.
