mywireless to ps2

Oh I see what you`re saying, sorry about that will I hope you get it going and try to see if you can talk to the other players on line with the socom game.

Good luck and have fun.

Hey playkiller, don't take what I said the wrong way, I wasnt arguing with you or trying to prove you wrong or anything of the sort. You were perfectly correct in saying that copied online games wont work etc. Do you have a PS2? Because I will get one of these adaptors, and let you know how it goes.

Ok, just to confirm a few things :

1. the UK (PAL) network adapter ONLY has a network port, no modem port, though it does have a hard drive data and power connectors (no details in the instructions on how to use it)

2. It comes with a DVD that lets you register with the central server for your country. You are required to enter your serial number for your PS2 and network adapter for this. UK and other european countries are listed (No US and no SA).

3. You can configure your ISP details and network details (static IP vs DHCP, DNS etc).

4. All of this is saved to your memory card

5. The first time you log on to the central server (which appears to be country specific) you get to choose a username / handle which then gets used for all the online games you play.

So unless you are planning to play on US servers you def need to go with the PAL adaptor.

I havent yet had a chance to go through all of the above, but will try it over the weekend OVER DIALUP and SATELLITE. I dont expect to actually be able to play any online games with my setup (I have FIFA 2004 so will test it with that).

My previous offer stands. Anyone wanting to test the thing over ADSL or MyWireless is welcome to contact me and make some plans. I am very interested to see if any of the online games are playable.

That will be for the ps2 40gb harddrive(seagate model)which the us gets this month with FFXI-online preinstalled, which japan had since 2001.

The drive is used for speeding up loading times, downloading new content like maps(socom2) saving games(never games only)

A pal version of the drive has not been released yet.

The drive comes with software to make it work with your ps2.

Don`t know if it will work with a pal machine.

I wish I had the money to bring my ps2 online but ASSkom prevents me
from doing this with their evil ass prices.
