May even be three strings of four looking at the MPPT specifications and the PV panels specifications but keen to see as I want to add one more PV panel to each of our strings.
Was there any discussion of multiple smaller batteries rather than one massive thing? Thanks.
Well, the company proposed one solution with SunSynk inverters, and one with Victron. I know the Victron stuff, and I wanted the quality + warranty.
SolarMD because that's what they use and have found to be very reliable + has a good warranty as well.
Noice, Always enjoy seeing a Victron install. . . Dont see a GX device thou? Are you getting this later on?Being installed as we speak, should be up & running by this afternoon, will update with pics
there is a typo in the System Description, it's only one 14.3kWh battery backup.

Yep thats the one, was wondering how the Battery going to communicate with the inverter. Great install. Perhaps at a later stage you can get a screen for it. Has a nice display of whats happening with the system. Are you referring to a Cerbo GX? I saw a box around earlier, I'm sure it's part of the mix.

I presume that beast is hard to steal, but in terms of redundancy, what if something goes wrong with it, then you're completely without battery vs if you had multiple then you'd have some redundancy (I assume this is how these things work)?

That works too. . very niftyWe have a Venus GX controller and access it either via IP address on my laptop, iPhone or iPad or via the Victron VRM app.
Why are they at different angles, rather than next to each other facing the same direction? Surely it's not optimal whichever direction the sun hits them? This is what it looks like on the roof, one more row to go

Two reasons: flat roof and hectic winds. Why are they at different angles, rather than next to each other facing the same direction? Surely it's not optimal whichever direction the sun hits them?
Thats pretty much true, we are majority infront of a device that has internet but lol in my head if im going to spending a premium, F*** it, gonna stick that monitor in the kitchen. Dont really hear much of Victrons packing up so well worth machines.I was looking at the CC GX due to it's screen but after a discussion with @Sinbad decided the Venus GX as he pretty much only looked at his phone and never the CC GX screen.
Is there no way to substitute the panels facing south with something else to give you a similar effect? Doesn't seem like optimal use of some good kit...Two reasons: flat roof and hectic winds.
With this setup, the wind will press the panels down, whereas if they were installed all facing N, it would basically create a giant wing that would be lifted by the wind.

There is a Wind Deflector but I don't think I have seen anyone locally. Was put on RVs to avoid the panels taking off. Not sure if they really adopted this correctly for roof top mountings because the scarcity of it.Is there no way to substitute the panels facing south with something else to give you a similar effect? If I were to install those panels all the E-panels will be string1 and all the W-Panels string2. Gives you good balance between early morning/late afternoon production plus they will shield from the wind. Like the designno, you don't mess with the South Easter around here.
With this setup, half the panels face E, half face W: best we could do with a flat roof smack bang in the path of the South Easter![]()
