Namibia Seeks German Aid for Genocide Reparations

Lol... "Genocide". This is pretty much where their requests and international trials will fall through the carpet and they will be sent back home with a bleeding nose.

Because it was not Genocide. It was a war.

On 12 January several hundred mounted Herero invaded Okahandja. They killed 123 people, most of them German, and set buildings alight. The conflict rapidly escalated and Germans who had escaped several farm attacks flocked to urban areas for protection.

They do not understand the consequences of their actions, and the younger generation today even less so.

They have no claim. No court will see this as genocide.

The moment von Trotha issued instruction to his generals to kill every Nama or Herero women and kids, it ceased being a war. It turned into genocide.

So, if my enemy declares a war, starts a war, killing more than 100 innocent people and my armed forces kills all of the enemies on the battlefield, you think it is genocide?

Nope, neither do the courts. Hence the reason Namibia is crying all day long not being able to take actions anywhere in the world. Germany should just ignore them.

What gives one group of people the right to demand money from another?

Collective responsibility is the reason why this conflict escalated. The leaders of these people gave explicit instruction to go and kill anyone who spoke German. And so the other side hits back and so on.

Besides which, reparations are about the worst way of going about healing the wounds of the past. Suckling on the tit of the German taxpayer isn't going to solve the poverty created by Namibia's racial socialist policies.

If the government of Namibia really wanted to heal the past, they would go to the German government and tell them: "Your country had a bad role in our country's past. We would like to give it a positive role in its future. Help us design economic and social policies that will deliver the economic growth the country needs."

Namibia isn't poor because of a lack of resources. It is poor because of halfwitted politicians who only see the past as an excuse for their current failures.
