Nandos quality deteriorating?

My usual order from them since I can remember has been the half chicken meal extra hot.

However after my last three purchases I've now stopped going there, not only is the chicken rather bland these days, the prices are crazy and the portions smaller.

This is specifically the Long Street and Adderley branches, but speaking to friends they also have had similar experiences elsewhere.

I've complained through the formal channels previously but all they offer you is a free meal without actually addressing the issue.

You should see what the prices would have been if they didn't lower the quality...
 
Yep been finding the same issue, the cost vs the actual chicken you getting is no worth it any longer.
 
Yeah look, I love Nandos, but the chickens there have been shrinking into oblivion for a long time now.
The chicken portions now are just ridiculously small. It's not worth it any more.
 
With regards to quality of the food - I've never had an issue.

Portion sizes have gotten smaller though.

its not just the portions which I could to certain extent forgive, the flavour has also gone now which has put me totally off
 
Nandos SA is not really the money maker for the group anymore, its at best second place.

Nandos UK is by far and away the bigger money maker..

I would guess because of that, the quality has slipped to try and make more profit from the SA stores.

they tried too much to be like BK or MCD and its not exactly working....
 
You mean takeaways did actually deliver quality at some time in the past?

Nandos has never been on my list of places to get a takeaway.

Have no idea why everyone wants such spicy food .....

Those are both burger joints, not flame grilled chicken joints.

Because we like it? Just because your stomach can't handle real food don't make it our problem :p...

Order lemon and herb then.

Heh heh! :D

Very much about what one "grows up with" I guess.

As a kid we only got "spicy food" when there was something "not quite right with the meat", so now I unconsciously "associate" excessive spicyness with "not quite right" food .....

+1! Spice is supposed to enhance the taste of food, not overpower it.
 
Loss of quality with increased prices is becoming the norm.

I could swear the bun on a steers burger I had recently is marginally smaller than it used to be.
