There are more meaningful ways to get to know about your fellow south african citizens.

Pupa, you come across as someone who has already made up your mind about those of us of african descent. I think you will find that there is more to us than hard feelings over lost cows, misconceptions about the value of the woman, you may even understand how extreme views expressed by Zuma aren't anymore representative of the Zulu any more than extreme views expressed by Eugene Terblanche.

Get to know an african family, Pupa. You will be surprised what you might learn.

I am a Native too.

My kids are 5th generation born in South Africa.
Our first progenitor in South Africa long buried and forgotten.

Other families are 6th, 7th, 8th generation or more, born in South Africa.
They need to employ the services of researchers to find out where they may have come from and then still no records may have been kept.

South Africa is our/my home and I am proud of that fact.
Often as a youngster I used to wonder to myself how our family ended up in South African and how lucky we were compared to other countries in the world. :)
 
While on the topic of exclusive associations. What are the requirements to get into the Black Lawyers Association?
 
You guys have got it all wrong. In the consitution, every use of the word discrimination is prepended by the word unfair. By definition, belonging to a whites only club is effectively going against the governments attempts to correct the wrongs from the past, but belonging to a blacks only club is not unfair discrimination.

The constitution defines Blacks as including other races except for white.
So ... while us whities cannot complain, the other races surely can ?

Poor QDot, I am also from African decent only of white African decent, I think, from since maybe the 1600's who knows who cares! But you guys would not accept it would you! we are still settlers! I grew up with Africans, have no qualms, The Zulus is IMHO always representative of hard working, friendly honest people. Zuma? well I do not think his a Zulu, maybe a plural but a pig in any way you can describe him! To think he is going to be the next leader and he cannot even lead his cock and at the same time play maestro about aids? I do not have any perception regards to blacks or natives, I just find it strange that there are so many racist laws entrenched in reverse and that is perceived OK by many posting and even reading here, So do not be surprised at PPl also offended by the ANC and others to make jokes and take the mickey out of PPl. I have black neighbours as well as Indians and whites. None of them bothers me as I bother none of them. My kids play mostly with the Indians and sometimes some black mates from here somewhere! So your advise, altho appreciated, is not required! Regards to Eugene, I despise the man and most of his followers, with good reason, they did nobody any favour, why you raise him in this "conversation" I can only presume you class me because of what I post in his category? what a joke, but you say I will not be arrested, C'mon this ANC GVT would find any reason to arrest posters here for their anti GVT opinions, they will twist everything out of context as many of you do anyway, so do not be to sure!

This has been tested in the constitutional court and the decision was that indeed they're not included. The test was about a coloured chap being fired from Eskom because, as the media put it, he was not black enough. The point I'm stressing here is not that we are being excluded, but that the constitution is protecting the discrimination under the guise of fair vs unfair discrimination. Discrimination should be just that - discrimination, and no distinction should (and in effect IMO logically) be made. It is grammatically a nonsensical statement and actually flaws the constitution. I certainly wish that the race problems we're currently experiencing would go away, but the reality is as long as it's protected by the constitution, and the ruling party maintains that protection, racial issues are here to stay.
