T-Mobile UK just announced the plan to kill all plans for our brothers and sisters across the pond. It's called The Full Monty and it's everything that you could possibly want in a mobile plan - unlimited calls, texts, data, and tethering all for one price.
The plan has four different variants, each of which is mostly differentiated by applicable devices. Here's a quick overview of what it looks like:

Yeah, yeah... 1[SUP]st[/SUP] world country. Can't compare. Blah, blah, blah.

But still... :(

Cool, I might be heading to London in the next few months for work. Looking forward to some awesome deals :)

Think i'll definitely move onto one of their plans when going back to London.. hopefully will be even cheaper by then :D

The fun that can be had with unlimited calls...

If I could get a free Galaxy SII, unlimited data, and 2000 minutes of off-network calls for R438 a month, I would definitely take that deal.

Tbh it's still expensive. Who actually needs unlimited minutes. It's this whole wonderful concept of paying more for unlimited, which in the first few months is great, after that you are just stuck with the contract.

On the cheapest deal, taking the iPhone 4s it's £36 x 24 + £99= £963 over the contract.

But buy the iPhone 4s cash, and take Three's (£15) or Giff Gaff's (£10) sim only deal and you're are looking at £499 + £15 or (£10) x 24= £859 or £739

Expensive when compared to the local providers' R200 to R350 worth of airtime per month? Expensive compared to MTN's 'generous' 250MB/month bundles on the iPhones? Expensive compared to, what, 75c per SMS?

Oh, how I wish you and MTN spoke the same language... :p

What Galaxy S IIs and HTC Sensations don't count?

Sure, in the South African context it is incredibly cheap. But in the UK market there are already other operators offering unlimited data. And when you have a home phone with unlimited UK calls, and unlimited broadband. You start thinking how much 'unlimited' do I actually want, when a persons needs are in fact limited!
