Just a heads-up, you will not automatically be moved to the new lower tariffs. You need to call them and tell them that you want to be charged the new lower prices or you'll continue to be billed at the old prices. :wtf:

Hi abzo, yes that is correct.

The reason for this is that we can not automatically upgrade to a higher package as there would be a price implication.

Also if you line is syncing at a higher speed than your all inclusive account, telkom will be charging us for the higher line speed.

Therefore if you want to take advantage of our new pricing then the customer will have to contact ust and let us know to either upgrade the account to match the new higher speed or to let us know to have your line downgraded to match your product.

Eish! That's a very ugly tactic of getting more money from your ignorant clients. Well done, Mr. H, you really know how to make more money at the cost of your company's reputation/integrity/legal morality. Pathetic!

Just last week there was a thread about a guy being pissed that his ISP automatically upgraded him. ISPs just can't win.

Also if there is a price implication they are not allowed to automatically upgrade. Remember this is a change to the speed and price, not just a simple price reduction.

And the data only accounts?

Not that care since I left you useless bunch, but others might.

Edit: Oh, I see the premium accounts stayed the same. The normal accounts are pretty useless.

Depends on the situation.

For example the old 2mb uncapped (data +line) was R449 and the new 2mb uncapped (data +line) is R339. If you don't tell them to change, you'll continue being charged R449 for 2mb uncapped (data +line) which is the new price of the 4mb uncapped (data +line) which they could have automatically upgraded you to with no implications.

Not at all, the 2Mb product at R339 is a standard product with lower thresholds than the premium one.

That is why we can not just go about changing customers accounts.

Thought the 2mb uncapped (data +line) for R339 and 4mb uncapped (data +line) for R449 were in the same family of products.

Does MWEB at least inform their clients of the new pricing?

Good, very relevant question.

I helped my brother get a Mweb account. He is not too technical so as long as things work, all is good. MWeb should be informing customer so they know what is going on. I know my brother would not look into this unless he is told.

We have notified our customers about this by sending them a mail to the primary MWEB email address

Which nobody uses.

Why can ALL the other ISP's send mails to the customer's preferred email but not MWEB?

It is in our T's & C's that all communication will be sent to the primary MWEB email address.

?

The 4mb all inclusive product for R449 is a standard account with a threshold of around 110Gb

The 2Mb all inclusive account at R339 is a standard 2mb product with a threshold of around 70Gb

I don't know why people both with MWEB! Really, they could give the packages away FREE and I wouldn't use them! It's time people realize that there is OTHER - BETTER - ISPS!

But that's even more reason to automatically upgrade people from the old 2mb to the new 4mb considering they're the same price.

Haha, they did not even bother to answer the question, but provided you with an explanation we already know thus the thread...
