Hi everyone. Today, something sad happened. My ndiswrapper was working earlier this morning, and then suddenly died. I didn't change anything. After struggling for about 45mins to get it working again (unsuccessfully), I removed it and decided to try re-trace the steps I took to get it working in the first place. The problem is as follows:

I have the windows driver installed, it picks up the USB wireless adapter and it even finds my Access Point when I do iwlist wlan0 scan

But I can't for the life of me get it to associate!!

I've tried turning off all security, and nothing...

Some ideas, please, or some suggestions as to how to do things a different way!!

Yes, windows works fine. As I say: iwlist wlan0 scan lists the access point, and sometimes I get intermittent association, but it just won't associate

Have you generated the passphrase with wpa-supplicant?

Or what type of encryption do you use on the AP?

I was using WPA. Yes, I generated it. And as I say, it WAS WORKING. Just suddenly stopped. You mean with wpa_passphrase though, right? I have even tried turning off all encryption.

OK. It connects without encryption now. I removed everything, re-installed everything (I think) exactly the same, and now it works, but without encryption. wpa is not working. Help? The wpa_supplicant -dd option gives me a whole bunch of "No suitable AP found" issues.

I don't think so. Output of aptitude show wpasupplicant follows:

Code:
Package: wpasupplicant
State: installed
Automatically installed: yes
Version: 0.6.0+0.5.8-0ubuntu2
Priority: important
