I've read through a couple of threads on the forum but I couldn't find sufficient information on this.

A Nedbank Private Banker want to meet with me tomorrow to invite me to open up an account with them.

I want to know what could I expect? Will they move over my vehicle finance and bond to Nedbank with better rates? Or will they just offer me a Private/Platinum/Gold cheque account, a credit card and a huge overdraft facility?

Know what your needs are and ask for a tailor made solution.

These guys are hungry for new business so this is your best opportunity to negotiate.

If you cannot get a better deal than what you currently have, then you need to inform the banker of this or walk away.

I work for the organization so I know the mechanics.....

Good Luck

Personally, I got excellent rates on credit card and bond - my bond was always with Nedbank but when I got a new bond I got prime less 1.8 - all the bond originators could not do better. Credit card debit rate is 12.75%. I like that I can just phone them and and open accounts, close accounts or what ever required via email / phone including queries etc. Definitely worth it imo if you can get better rates etc.

So I postponed the meeting with the Nedbank Private banking consultant because my bank, FNB changed my cheque & credit card accounts from gold to Platinum which includes a private banker. I will get confirmation tomorrow regarding the reduced interest rates. The monthly account fee is about half of what Nedbanks Private banking fee is.

Would I get preferential rates at Wesbank now that I am a Platinum Client?

What other extra benefits could could I expect on FNB Platinum?
