Need a dentist - a really good dentist.

My dentist is ****.

Need a good dentist, preferably one that specializes in veneers.

You're looking to get veneers? How much do they cost these days? Last I heard it was a few grand per tooth.
 
Not sure how many teeth you're looking at having done but I lost 2, top front teeth due to chemo two years ago. I had a permanent porcelain bridge (6 teeth) made two years ago. My dentist in Sunset Beach made them in his rooms (no sending to a lab and waiting) as he has the machinery. It took 8 hours, alot of pain and just over R20 000. It was worth every sent and every minute in the chair........I have beautiful, permanent front teeth:D

How are they put in place? And are they permanently in place or can you remove them at will?

I lost the two teeth next to my main, middle ones. They filed down those two teeth, and the ones on the other sides of the gaps, to sharp points. There are two bridges of three teeth each which then get placed into the points and they are cemented in, never to come out. I can post a pic of them. I also have pics of during the procedure but I will have to leave the country if I ever put those up:D:D:D

Sounds like crowns not dentures or veneers. They all look the same afterwards but the method is different.

Dentures: removable
Veneers: often confused with a crown, are actually a skin that is installed over the existing tooth which is filed down VERY SLIGHTLY
Crown: often confused with a veneer, about half of the exposed tooth is filed away and a crown with a porcelain veneer is cemented over the old tooth.

Of the 3, a proper veneer is the least intrusive and the one I will recommend. Just be sure to confirm with the dentist that it's a minimal veneer and not a crown veneer.
 
Veneers are still damaging to your tooth structure, they grind off a mm or 2 of your tooth and the guy better know what he's doing. They also do not last, apparently 10-15yrs and then they need replacing, that's if the remaining tooth has enough body/strength to allow it, otherwise it needs to be capped or pulled and an implant fitted.

Generally don't get it done unless there's something rather seriously wrong with you teeth. If it's purely cosmetic, ie you long for a flawless grin I'd give it a skip and rather work on your personality, seriaas.
