Hi guys
My young son has just spent his pocket money on BF2...
I'm not a gamer at all, and would appreciate some pointers on getting him started playing online (local server)

Would appreciate your help.

ETA: He's not a TOTAL n00b, he's been playing an "unoffical" :D version for quite a while.
 
Make sure u got ADSL

Download the latest patches for the game

Start Game

Go multiplayer -> online

Search for "SGS -=" servers, there are about 6 local ones.

Enjoy!!
 
Also, Titan games are probably the easiest ones to play at first. The engineer class is, IMO, the easiest to play. The local BF2 community is quite friendly and willing to help out.

Here's the latest patch. It looks like the SGS FTP is down at the moment. Try later today.

Frag rate = Kills vs Being killed ;)

Glad to see a daddy being so into his son's gaming. Get yourself a PC to and join him. We all know u want too :D
 
Heh - my son's just read your comment over my shoulder. He's been nagging me forever "Dad, you'll enjoy BF2, Dad, play BF2 with me..."

Now he's got even more ammo LOL
 
Yea BF2 is fun. Be sure to join a squad if you want a more tacticle round. Being commander isn't always that fun. Also, if you can, try finding a game called counter strike source, really fun, great online community here in sotuh africa too.

Does anyone know a server that allows a high unlock for weps. I can only get up to the first 2 weps and it's a bit boring.
