Need a suggestion for a TV Box or Android Box.

The second part yes. You can have a bunch of stuff on the WebDAV so not like you’ll ever run out of stuff to watch.

I also have content on 2 external 2TB HDD's as well, which I play back using either KODI or VLC, as well as MP3 music files which I have loaded onto the 8GB SD card & also use VLC to play them... - so need the 16GB internal storage for the KODI library data & add-ins... ;)

From my 5 minute research last night - you basically copy paste links from Stremio for instance, using an iPhone, and once pasted/created, it's like a library that will just play whenever. Apparently comparable for Apple users to VLC.

Not sure if it does torrenting links?

Backstreetboy wil clarify/correct.

Schlep for me personally, enjoying Android, but open to Apple if certain things were possible.

No, it doesn't preclude it but these days, with an abundance of 1000+ channel IPTV services, who themselves often have massive and comprehensive libraries, I'd argue that you really don't need a home based library of your own, nor do you really want one.
 
So I have received my Apple TV yesterday, what a dream to setup. It just makes sense if you have an Iphone get the Apple TV if not go with the Mibox. Only one issue is I can't use Dolby Vision on my Apple TV and Hisense, I get a green bar at the bottom of the screen, definitely an issue with the Hisense TV. I only had bad experiences with Hisense will never buy TV from them again. No Software Support, nothing. I also have a Hisense Soundbar and when thats plugged in the TV goes in and endless loop by restarting after 5 min when the system is switched off.

Strange, I plug in my Mi Stick 4k and no issues with Dolby Vision on 2 different Hisense TVs... Though they aren't entry level TVs, but of course easier to blame the TV not the Apple right :-P

Look not saying its not the Apple TV, but honestly I just had bad experiences with my Hisense TV, support is non existent.

Have you approached Hisense? As they came out and replaced the motherboard on my 1 1/2 TV in January. They also tend to email you new versions of the firmware if it's available. So can't really call support terrible if you've not asked.
Plus what model of Hisense and have you tried DV on other devices?

Thanks I found this Sub as well, did try all the option and still experiencing issues.

I could not test the Dolby Vision 50Hz as I did not have that option on my Apple TV.

What Hisense TV is it? Might be able to fiddle with it's settings

Look I did buy the Hisense TV in 2020 Model: 50B7200UW

I have emails to Hisense Support from 2020, since I bought the TV.

Settings are very minimal, it runs on Google Android.

Wait if it's running Android TV why did you get an Apple TV? Does Netflix and Prime on the Android its running use Dolby Vision? Can you see a difference? Cause it's a rather entry level model TV, Hisense in SA didn't release many Android TVs.

That's the thing the Native Apps never showed the Dolby Vision icon, only when using my Xbox Series S I could see the popup and the same with Apple TV.

Big reason for upgrade, the thing is slow as hell and the only way to use the F1 App is to download an APK everytime it updates.

I did notice HDR did not work correctly with the Native Youtube App only worked on the Xbox.

Strange, as the native apps should support it out the box. Have you tried another hdmi port? Perhaps the same one the Xbox is in? Just to try eliminate that?

Yep Tested them all, they are all 4k 60fps and HDMI 2 is Earc as well that I'm currently using for the Soundbar, but then I have the CEC issue

Maybe its just time to get an LG

Just want to add the Dolby Atmos Hisense Sound bar is awesome, really happy with that purchase.
 
HDMI 2 isn't earc, hdmi 2.1 is generally. What's the CEC issue? A cheap LG is going to have the same or similar headaches to a cheap Hisense, plus there has been improvements made since 2020 when you bought that TV.
Which Hisense sound bar did you get? The annoying thing I've noticed is that soundbars only come with one hdmi unless you go really expensive like my JBL 9.1 or the Sony HTX8500 I have.
