Need Advice for a new laptop

Hey

I hope I can get some advice from some pc experts.

My HP Pavilion finally gave up and I need a replacement of the same or better spec.

I am interested in the Sony Vaio C series which looks good and has decent spec levels.

I am looking for reliability at the moment as I want to keep my laptop working for at least another 3 years.

I had a really bad experience with HP which costed me big time I spent R14000 on a laptop that only gave me 3 years
of medium usage now its worth nothing much and will cost me R5000 to fix and has a design flaw which causes graphics card failure and ultimately replacement of entire motherboard.

Has anybody had any bad experiences with Sony?

I dont like Lenovo, Acer and Dell but any advice would be much appreciated

Specs I need are:
15,5 inch full HD screen LED would be nice
Core i5 processor 2.30ghz
at least 4GB ram
500gb HDD at least
USB 3.0 would be a plus
DVD
bluetooth
webcam would be nice

What model Pavillion is the 1 you have that's broke? DV6 Dv7 ?
 
You haven't told us your budget, so I'm going to look for ones that have 2 year warranties or more, that match or beat the specs you require and I've left out HP laptops.

Unfortunately you are not able to have i5 and i7 options enabled at the same time.

Check IC Trade-in specials. Last week was Lenovo Z570 R5999.
Higher than your requirements, it has dedicated Geforce 525M (?) graphics.

That is a very, very nice laptop imo. Don't think it's a FULL HD screen though.
 
No. Typical resolution for these 15.6" 16:9 wide screen. 768 vertical if remember corectly. Many 17" don't do full HD too.
 
you might want to look at panasonic toughbooks - they last like forever!

Toughbooks are for when you need to throw your laptop out the top-floor window and need it to survive.
